House of India — Restaurant in City of Hamilton

My sister ordered food for us from sargasso from here, found two hairs in my food ignored the first hair and then noticed a second hair…. We took a pic of it literally sitting in the food the sargasso agent was a gem tried to sort out the issue, but the owner obviously very ignorant wanted us to drive all the way into town to show them the hairs mind you I only asked for a partial refund, as the men who make the food apparently wear hair caps…well they must not be tight enough because I don’t have short straight black hair I liked their food never had a issue before so it’s very disappointing that they handle their customers like this and refused to give me a partial refund with a picture that proved the hair was in the food, just wow that person who made a comment about this establishment on majs list was right! waste of 69$ won’t be ordering from here again and will be letting my friends know to not waste...

Food was ok. It was tasty, but in comparison to uk curry houses, I'd give it one or two stars. The dishes seem very different from any other curry house I've been to. The shrimp balti was very tasty and I would recommend it, but it was nothing like balti I've had in various places before. I wanted to order a jalfreizi, but didn't order it as it said no sauce (what?) and even the hot one we ordered (i forget which one) was barely a medium. Oh and don't order sag aloo. They don't use fresh spinach and instead will give you potatoes swimming in a green sauce made from frozen spinach. Reminds me of school canteen lunches back...

I went to House of India twice last month, being served by the same waiter both times. The food was excellent and tasty and not too spicy. I appreciated the lunch buffet which includes unlimited amounts of food, such as a tasty fish curry, for just twenty dollars per person. It is relatively easy to find parking nearby. This restaurant is on the north end of downtown so it is not too crowded with ample seating. The staff is competent and they don't rush you, and patiently explain the different dishes.
