Bermuda Reef Explorer Turtle Cove Glass Bottom Snorkelling Adventures — Attraction in City of Hamilton

This is a must-book experience for young and less-young alike!!! We booked the glass bottom tour primarily for our kids, but ended up loving the experience as adults. My only regret is that I didn’t do the full snorkeling experience, but will definitely be back to do that again! Captain Mike made this trip an informative and beautiful cruise, covering not only the incredible coral reefs and wildlife of Bermuda, but was an amazing storyteller who engaged our entire group with anecdotes about the history of Bermuda from its discovery and founding to pointing out where John Lennon stayed while writing his last album. When we descended to the glass bottom, I still can’t get over how close of a view we had of the reefs!!! We were told how long it takes for brain coral to reach the size of a soccer ball (won’t spoil that for you) and how what looked like 2 different types of coral are actually the same exact one in different states! When I booked my reservation, Captain Mike communicated to arrive at the dock at 9:30am. He stated if we encounter any trouble arriving to contact him and he would wait a couple mins, if needed.

I aimed to arrive at the dock between 9-9:15. We waited ~45 mins for a taxi (of course, not Captain Mike’s fault). When we secured a taxi, our driver got us there at 9:34.

I called and texted Captain Mike to inform him of our delay but I didn’t get a response. I know it’s not his fault we were 4 minutes late. However, it was disappointing he communicated flexibility for these type of circumstances, but when it happened, Captain Mike didn’t answer.

Take-away for others, absolutely make sure you have transport secured. I don’t want this review to reflect the excursion, as I’m sure it’s wonderful. My feedback is for the organizers to enforce to guests that the departure time is 9:30 and no exceptions. 9:30 is not the arrival/boarding time. We were there at 9:34 and the boat was gone. Absolutely Amazing tour and experience! Michael and his crew provided an exceptional tour, highlighting the exquisite blue/green waters, sunken ships, and pristine white beaches! Absolutely worth the time and cost! My son has special needs and is on the autism spectrum, and he found this cruise engaging even with his sensory needs.
