I think this place is a joke. If you can't make items right, then you shouldn't offer it on your menu. Granted, maybe the fault is mine for thinking a sushi restaurant that offered pho and ramen on its menu could make it at least decently. For all tourists and unknowing patrons, please BEWARE. The pho and ramen are a sham and come nowhere close to being pho or ramen. The "pho" is basically an oil broth - no fish sauce, no ginger, none of the condiments that normally go in pho and the 'beef brisket" they offer to go along with the pho is ALREADY COOKED! It's WELL DONE! This is the kind of barbequed brisket or meat that people put in sandwiches, NOT soup! This is honestly embarrassing to offer such a sham of a dish, it shouldn't be too hard to execute. Same with the ramen, how hard is it to make ramen? We're not expecting an aged authentic Japanese broth, but we were also not expecting a dump of oil, green beans, mushrooms, raw carrots and spinach without any flavor either. They use the SAME broth AND noodles for BOTH the ramen AND the pho - which should tell you something. Wrong broth, wrong noodles, wrong ingredients -- you are better off with instant ramen from the grocery store, and I promise that isn't an exaggeration.
Since moving to Bermuda, one of our biggest complaints has always been the food. But restaurants don't care. They'll continue to charge you close to $30 a dish for less than $10 worth of the wrong ingredients. I wish I hadn't been fooled by the high reviews for this place, but as one of the only places on the island that offers it on their menu, we had hope that we wouldn't be completely scammed. We are extremely disappointed after ordering close to $100 worth of food for dinner tonight and not being able to...
Read moreSo ok, this review should have been posted a while back along with the other Bermuda reviews but I missed it. It’s a long-overdue review.
Hubby and I passed by this restaurant the last time we came to Bermuda a few years ago. This time we decided to try it. It was a busy place. We must try any place that’s busy because we know it means the food is good. So we ordered quite good. I had a nice poke bowl with salmon. I think it was Devil’s Poke. Delicious bowl! I mean whatever came in the bowl lol. Then I have a Vietnamese Pho. Another great dish. Hubby had special rolls and then sushi with yellowtail, eel, and scallops. Wow! Is there anything they make that’s not good? We’ve been to many Japanese restaurants and surprisingly this restaurant has the best yellowtail. They must have gone fishing themselves. Bermuda is an island near where yellowtails come to play. No wonder! We’re so happy we visited the place. I highly recommend the restaurant to locals and tourists with...
Read moreI used to really love this restaurant when it first opened, I’d go at least twice a week back in 2021… poke bowls and there signature sushi rolls was BOMB.
Recently, I feel like they’ve really fallen off with the quality of food. The fish has been salty and has had a weird texture that ive never had before. The avocado would be mushy and brown, the mango would be really slimy (like it’s been sitting out for a day). The rice will either be hard and old or it was JUST made so the rice is hot (and when you get raw sushi, you don’t really want hot rice to go with it).
I switched and tried other dishes, even cooked dishes… and I still feel like it’s the same. The veggies are normally frozen… the broth will be oil and water… sometimes the beef will be tender, other times it’s dry and rough to eat. And all the while, it’s pretty expensive for what you get.
I don’t know what’s changed over the years, but I haven’t been craving their sushi...
