Harbourfront Restaurant — Restaurant in undefined

It's a real hard rating. The main course and starter were good as usual. However the tiramisu was overloaded with coffee sauce that was horrible so I sent it back. I then tried for 25 minutes to catch a waiters eye to pay the check. After that amount of time I got up and went to pay at the host's desk. I asked to have the service charge removed which they purported to do and then brought me a check for the same amount. I am not sure if this was deliberate but I am temporarily visually impaired.

I then asked for the owner who complained that I was removing the service charge and that he had asked me how things were when he cleared my main course and I had at that time said "OK". Up to that point things were OK but then he took the slices of lime that I was still using for my sparkling water and I had not had the desert or the 25 minute wait for a check.

I asked for proof of cancellation of the credit card charge against my card which included the service charge I was told they could not give me a copy as the machine does not produce one. I have never had this happen before. I ended up leaving not signing anything but leaving my phone number and email so I am expecting a call for a charge once the cancellation shows on my account and that I shouldn't have a charge on my card for the meal tonight. I bet that that is not what happens either.

Pretty poor on a ridiculously minor and technical point. I would not have bothered if the owner Pier Angelo was not off the charts aggressive and unreasonable about me asking to have the service charge removed and that as the meal was OK to the end of the main course that was somehow a certain proof that the remainder...

I had high hopes for this place. We were warmly greeted and seated at the back of the patio, apparently to stay out of the sun. It was warm, so I understand. The menu was massive, with everything under the sun including sushi, Italian, seafood and beef entrees, with lots of each. The menu has some interesting descriptions that we asked our server (Vlad) about and he struggled to say anything helpful. Short cryptic answers that were not helpful. My wife and I are adventurous diners but we're unable to get any clarity on our questions to help us . I feel like we missed out on what may have been a great dining experience, instead leaving us frustrated with our whole experience. I cannot say enough about our experience here. I had the bronzino and my husband had the sole; both were delicious. The chocolate cake with caramel sauce was to die for!

Our waitress, Yuwaluck, went absolutely above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. So many nice touches…she saw that I wanted ice in my white wine and actually spooned it in for me. We sat outside by the water and she brought us bread to feed the fish. We tried to leave her a large tip and she actually refused a $20, saying, “Too much!
