Sky Garden — Restaurant in Thimphu District

After an exhaustive search, we have found the best bartender in Bhutan. A couple of us went for one drink last night and Karma the bartender was so efficient, charming and fun that we stayed for two hours. My friend and I are two of the fussiest martini drinkers anywhere and Karma's skill in making exactly what we wanted was terrific. They were great. The bar itself is charming and has a great view, including the lit up Golden Buddha and the city. Sky Garden is in the Taj Yarkay but not in the main tower and is bit of a challenge to find but is worth it when you get there. Just ask at reception.
