I ordered the bento for lunch. I was served freezer-burned salmon, and chicken teriyaki that felt in my mouth like it had been in the freezer for a year. The chicken karaage was the most edible thing in the bento, but one piece was nothing but fat or skin covered in batter.
I tried to order green tea, and then I was offered cold tea. I said, “if that’s what you’re serving today,” because it was a hot day. I’d rather have whatever is customary or usual to the restaurant. I was served “iced tea” which had zero tea in it. It was lemonade!
