Japanese Restaurant NEW TOKYO — Restaurant in Santa Cruz de la Sierra

I ordered the bento for lunch. I was served freezer-burned salmon, and chicken teriyaki that felt in my mouth like it had been in the freezer for a year. The chicken karaage was the most edible thing in the bento, but one piece was nothing but fat or skin covered in batter.

I tried to order green tea, and then I was offered cold tea. I said, “if that’s what you’re serving today,” because it was a hot day. I’d rather have whatever is customary or usual to the restaurant. I was served “iced tea” which had zero tea in it. It was lemonade!

This restaurant does not compare at all to the one in La Paz. The one in La Paz is extremely elegant. Here it is a large dark room badly decorated.

The leaves much to be desired. Simple things are either overcooked and not tasty at all
