As an American visiting Santa Cruz for the first time, I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Botanica, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the charming ambiance and the lush greenery that perfectly complements the restaurant's name.

The menu at Botanica is a delightful fusion of local Bolivian flavors and international cuisine, offering something for everyone. I started with the quinoa salad, which was fresh, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. For my main course, I opted for the grilled Amazonian fish, which was cooked to perfection and accompanied by a delightful mix of local vegetables. The presentation was impeccable, and each bite was a testament to the chef's skill and creativity.

What truly set Botanica apart was the exceptional service. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was perfect, making excellent wine recommendations and providing insights into the local ingredients and dishes.

IT is a nice setting, and they do give a little snack while you wait, otherwise i would have given only one star. Why? First of all, I ordered a juice, the menu never mentioned ice and I wouldn't mind a little bit, but look at the picture! Ok I did have a few sips but it's three quarters ice! I would have loved to give this place 5 stars, but the food quality is quite mediocre for the price. I tried a few dishes and they were all very basic.
