My daughter and I ordered the “Health Bowl” for breakfast on our first visit to Maun, and after all the hype, we expected something a bit more as described on the menu. Instead, we were served a bowl of yogurt with a sprinkle of granola, literally two blueberries, and a few sad pieces of pawpaw — not at all what was advertised. At R120, it was barely a snack, especially compared to the R75 Mayday Payday pasta meat dish my husband received, which was a proper meal. We left disappointed and hungry and completely let down.

🤔… Thank you for your response. I understand the Health Bowl is meant to be a light option, but what we received didn’t feel like what was described on the menu — especially with only two blueberries and a few small pieces of pawpaw. I don’t mind paying for quality ingredients, but for R120 it felt far too little, particularly when compared to the generous R75 Payday Mayday. It wasn’t about expecting a heavy meal, but about value and balance.

We appreciate the apology, but as first-time visitors who had heard so much about your place, it was really disappointing to...

We visited The Duck 3 times whilst we were recently in Maun and absolutely loved it. The food was delicious! We had a different dish every time we visited and each time were left fully satisfied. The selection of food and drink is varied with a lot to choose from. Service is fantastic and very efficient. All staff were friendly and welcoming. There is a small shop attached to the restaurant where you can buy various gifts, as well as the option for ornaments and trinkets outside of the restaurant. Great little eatery opposite...

We come here all the time. But for some reason, on this particular Friday, the waitress (Kelly) was very sort tempered and would not help my friend properly or explain what the issue is. I would believe it does not take much effort to explain if you are having a busy evening, but she did not do that. Infactvshe insisted my friend was trying to fight her when she was trying to make any inquiry. It was disheartening considering we love coming her for the Friday night special pizza and...

The food in this restaurant is not bad but it is way overpriced for the amount of food provided. My USD 9 smoked salmon scramble was really tiny, the size of a finger sandwich. Location is convenient because it is across the street from the Maun Airport. We grabbed breakfast before our 9:30 am flight. However, if you have time and willing to walk, there are couple restaurants nearby with more reasonable prices and taste just as good or better.

Bustling with lively patrons and even livelier waiting staff, The Duck Cafe and Bar is sure to tickle your taste buds while in Maun Town. From decadent coffee to superb lunches on their spacious verandah you won’t regret visiting here. While parking may be a letdown, the local art on display and little gift store will certainly make for an all round exciting luncheon.

Delicious food, life saving coffee and staff that feel more like family. The Duck, conveniently situated across from the airport, perfectly captures the spirit of Maun. Whether you've just arrived, are about to leave, or will be in town for a while - the friendly energy of The Duck, just like that of Maun town, will be sure to have you wanting to go back!
