Pousada dos Meros — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Angra dos Reis

Upon arrival to this hotel we were over charged on our Visa card, unfortunately not one employee spoke English to explain. The following day it rained all day staff were very unhelpful with info and almost seemed like there were uninterested. I tried to speak broken Portuguese, Spanish and use google translate to ask for help with many issues some easy, their response was 'Dont understand'. Basically did not want to speak to us. They couldn't assist with umbrellas, dinner recommendations or anything really. On the day we checked out there was a problem with our transfer and I had to use their phone to make some calls, they allowed me to use the phone but couldn't really tell me what was going on, also shrugged us off when we wanted to check if we were correctly charged by our check out- thankfully they did issue a refund which only cleared after we left. We stayed here for five nights in June. The grounds are very beautiful and we really liked our room. The bathroom looked new and it had hot water which we often did not experience elsewhere - hooray! The room was cleaned each morning with fresh towels. The breakfast was delicious, plentiful and more than we were expecting. Yes the wifi didn't work in our room but it did in the restaurant - if you want spotless wifi stay at home! The dog at the pousada is gorgeous and does not need a trip to the vets - he is just very old!! I've marked the pousada down one star because although we didn't expect them to speak English, we thought they would be friendlier, don't think we made eye contact with any of the staff the whole time. We just had a really bad experience. We went there to pick up our laundry. The woman (short hair, middleaged) was screaming at us like a devil, throwing around things saying that tourists are rude and so on. We just said: bom dia, and she didn't even respond. After, she began to really offend argentinian people and we (Swiss people) were really shocked about what she was saying. These people are real racists and we were so happy (on holidays) but she really offended us and treated us really bad without any reason because we are 3 friendly guys who are enjoying their holidays.
