This place is chaos, honestly not just one of the worst experiences in Ilha Grande but my worst experience eating at a restaurant throughout my 3 months traveling in South America. We waited for 2 hours and 30 minutes to be served our food which we placed an order for 3 times with three waiters as it simply did not seem to make it back to the kitchen. We ordered 2 plates of calamari for the table, which should be the quickest of foods to make along with two dishes that were supposedly sharing dishes. We tried to leave twice throughout our stay and were all but dragged back to our seats with multiple arguments with the staff, we are patient people but this was 2 hours in.
Our table was served after many others who arrived after us. The kitchen was a mess, filthy and no work was being done despite many tables waiting hours for food. At one point there was a queue of people waiting to complain and ask for time frames on food. No service was provided with this wait either, they tried to ignore our table avoiding eye contact and questions. When the food finally did arrive some elements were missing, we received bland fish, dry and strange tasting chicken two massive bowls of plain rice and inedible calamari the consistency of rubber bands that had been fried to death. To top this all off they attempted to charge us for all the food and drinks some of which we didn’t even order but they just placed on the table in some attempt at keeping us happy, these drinks were not brought early in our wait but 2 hours in, not once before this did they ask us if we wanted any drinks while we waited, there was no apology just many excuses. We ended up having to haggle the price of the meal and ended up paying nearly 80 euros for what they originally wanted to charge 140 for. The true value of the meal and experience provided to us was honestly worth nothing, the only reason we paid anything at all was because there was a real sense that if we didn’t a huge scene...
Read moreI tried this place, since you can eat near the beach with music. It seems like it could be live music, but he was drinking bear and played from his phone. Probably since i was the only customer. On the banner it says 45 BRL fried fish with fried potato and rice. But the menu did say for two persons same dish 100 BRL. I ending paying 49.50 BRL sice they took fee for their service. Which are not including on the price on the banner. The question is if they take same service for two. The fish was not freshly made but rather seems like a frozen fish ready to fry. It did not taste good but still eatable. The fried potato did not have any salt, and they did only have mayo and mustard. If they forgot to refill the ketchup then i see that they earned the service fee lol. The rice did not have any taste. But their was a bean sauce which helped with the rice even if this sauce did not have the beat taste. So not a well dish at a fine restaurant but rather quick fastfood with limited taste and high price compared to the quality of...
Read moreBy far the worst food we had in Brazil. We ordered a grilled fish and seafood plate, everything was so dry that you could hardly eat it, but therefore swam in oil. Too salty. We told the owner (?) and he did not show any reaction whatsoever, no apologies, nothing. But he had the courage to charge us an extra 10% service charge after we had to remind him of our orders, get a candle for our table by ourselves, ask him for napkins and cutlery etc.
Please do not waste your...
