I am German and after my visit I don't think this represents the food that Germans enjoy eating today. I tasted their "Bratwurst" which was really a super cheap, overly sweet "Weißwurst" (the kind of saussage in a cheap hot dog). Also the Apple Pie (Apfelstrudel) was the worst I ever had. I also wonder why they don t offer "Apfelschorle", a 50/50 mixture of sparkling water and apple juice. This is one of the typical German drinks (to be served cold) which almost noone knows. The big hall is nicely decorated, even though nowhere in Germany would anybody dare to put so many German flags, because your restaurant will be immediately considered a Nazi place (sadly). I is a pitty that in the middle of Brazil, where you can get high quality food with excellent taste, a place calling themselves German gets away with serving cheap stuff and thinking people would not notice it is ....just that:...

Very disappointed with the service tonight, every time I come back home (Brazil) I go to bar do alemão with my family, I am brazilian but I’ve been living in the USA for the past 21 years I’ve been a server and manager of restaurants for the past 20 years and I get very upset when I get bad service because I know how the restaurant industry works. With that being said I am very disappointed with the horrible attitude we got from the moment we walked in! Food was not great it got to the table before the drinks and I sended back because the Fries look burned they took it back And gave us another one that wasn’t much better, then we finished we wanted to order more drinks and food but the waiter took forever to come back to the table so we decided to just leave before cursing 🤬 someone out. Bar do Alemão, is a great place to hang out with friends. Good tap beer Great service. Convenient location . Food is good and portions are in the large side. The main course is enough for 2 ! Price is pretty average for a good Brazilian bar. Paid Parking and Rideshare are easy to find and the surrounding is pretty safe . There will be a few panhandlers around, but I found okay to navigate the short stone paved course get to my Uber . Last call is around 1:15 AM and the bar close by 2AM. At this time , many guests migrate to the neighboring bars next doors ( there are a few others to choose from ) While there , make sure to have the Chopp Afogado, which gives you a miniature beer glass to take home as a souvenir.
