Manguti — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata de Eunápolis - Porto Seguro

I wish we had tried this place first! We stayed in the area for 7 days and spent the first 5 days trying various restaurants on the same street or close by. Although we had good food at some other restaurants on the street, they don't compare in quality, price and portion size to Manguti. I went two night in a row and had steak on both nights, as it's one of the best I have had during my visits to Brazil.

The only negatives is that it's so popular that you normally have to queue for a seat for dinner. You basically speak to the host and they write your name down and call you in order, which can mean a bit of a wait.....but it's definitely worth it My only wish is that we hadn't walked past it on previous nights and tried it a little sooner.

Service time is acceptable for such a busy restaurant and you don't feel rushed to leave the table.

One thing I would say is ask your server about the food portion sizes, especially if you are just a couple. Luckily our server recommended that we didn't order 2 separate meals and that we would be good to order one between us. And when the meal arrives, I could see why....the portions are huge. Unfortunately the food was so good that I forgot to take a picture.

Would I eat there again? Yes, in an instant. Gostaria de ter experimentado este lugar primeiro! Ficamos na área por 7 dias e passamos os primeiros 5 dias experimentando vários restaurantes na mesma rua ou nas proximidades. Embora tenhamos comido bem em alguns outros restaurantes na rua, eles não se comparam em qualidade, preço e tamanho da porção ao Manguti. Fui duas noites seguidas e comi bife nas duas noites, pois é um dos melhores que já comi durante minhas visitas ao Brasil.

O único ponto negativo é que é tão popular que normalmente você tem que fazer fila para sentar para jantar. Você basicamente fala com o anfitrião e ele escreve seu nome e o chama em ordem, o que pode significar um pouco de espera... mas definitivamente vale a pena Meu único desejo é que não tivéssemos passado por ele nas noites anteriores e experimentado um pouco mais cedo.

O tempo de serviço é aceitável para um restaurante tão movimentado e você não se sente apressado para sair da mesa.

Uma coisa que eu diria é perguntar ao seu garçom sobre o tamanho das porções de comida, especialmente se vocês forem apenas um casal. Felizmente, nosso garçom recomendou que não pedíssemos 2 refeições separadas e que seria bom pedirmos uma para cada um. E quando a refeição chegou, eu pude ver o porquê... as porções são enormes. Infelizmente, a comida era tão boa que eu esqueci de tirar uma foto.

Eu comeria lá de novo? Sim,...

I haven't eaten filet mignon in a long time and I decided to go for it. Very tender and grilled to temperature, a fine and filling piece of meat. At 100 reais ($20) it was the most expensive item on the menu. Accompanied by homemade gnocchi which were fluffy and also filling. It came slathered in a creamy sauce that I found to be gloppy and too rich, but I think that's the way people around here like it. They're happy to package up whatever you can't eat, to go, the portions are large. We'd never seen Madeira sauce on a fish dish, and they also prepare this here. Seems to be a trendy place with good word-of-mouth and a short queue of diners...

My wife, niece and I ate here twice while vacationing for a week in Arrail d'Ajuda. We were very pleased with the food quality and the value. We definitely recommend their Moqueca dish for 2 people. It was much better than another place we tried. The gnocchi are good as well. The hotel we stayed at recommended this restaurant and we are thankful for that....
