Bad experience. We had two main dishes, a filet with bacon and a seafood pasta. The seafood pasta was very bland and the prawns were tasteless, overcooked and definitely not fresh. Considering the location of the restaurant and the price point of this dish (120), it is not good enough. The filet with bacon and red wine sauce was also not acceptable. Asked for medium rare and the steak was raw, cold in the middle. The sauce was completely overpowering and had a strange flavour. The risotto was the best part of this dish, and it was okay. Service was okay, very basic and unsatisfactory interactions considering there is a 10% service charge. When I compare this dining experience to experiences I have had in Europe or Asia, this restaurant is not in the same league.
Worst of all, after paying and leaving I became very sick, I was throwing up as soon as I got to my hotel. Terrible experience, and not matching it's...
Read moreOne of my absolute favorites in Trancoso! The setting is gorgeous and the service was warm, friendly, and attentive from start to finish. We started with two standout appetizers: crispy fried cheese cubes drizzled with molasses (a perfect sweet-savory bite) and a creative croquette sampler with shrimp, a tangy salsa-like side, and another shrimp accompaniment that you can sandwich inside the croquette—so fun and flavorful.
For mains, we tried three fish dishes—each delicious in its own way. The grouper came with a surprising and tasty banana purée, the white fish with wasabi sauce was beautifully balanced alongside grilled veggies, and the soy-ginger white fish was packed with umami. Tropical cocktails hit just the right note, too. We were too full for dessert, but the whole experience was top-notch.
✨ A must-try if you’re in Trancoso.

Read moreSummary: Great place to try Brazilian traditional food, but may not have everything to offer in the off season
We were recommended this place due to local cuisine (which we had). Had the caju (Cashew fruit) and lime Caipirinha with the Acarajé speciality. A disclaimer that we were in the offseason so super quiet and as a result were probably out of things as a result.
Pros -Pretty vibe and comfortable couch seats. -Staff were awesome and very welcoming -Waiter also speaks English (although never expected and wouldn’t rate somewhere down if they didn’t!) -caipirinhas were solid despite no cachaça
Cons: -No cachaça for the caipirinhas, which is a first in Brazil. -Can’t do Moscow Mules because no ginger foam (another Brazilian staple) -No air con (but most places in...
