Good option for iFood, but don't bother going to the physical restaurant.
Even though the food was good, the experience was very awkward. The waiter made us very uncomfortable pontificating that we weren't allowed to share the "Degustation Menu" between different people on the table, that it was against their policy, etc. - went on for 1-2 minutes about this to finally say "you can still share but I wanted to make it clear it isn't allowed".
Whether it makes sense to allow people to share food that is not served in an "all you can eat" fashion, in a bar is already a hardly debatable question. But the main point is, it made us feel bad for even asking, and ultimately didn't really change anything. They could have explained afterwards when we were leaving that an exception was made so we could enjoy our evening, but instead it was framed as something wrong we were doing. On top of that, there were like 2 other occupied tables only, so maybe the waiter could have assisted us on choosing good options to share to begin with.
On the atmosphere, the place isn't actually enclosed so strong winds were an issue, making napkins fly all over the place. The floor was uneven therefore so was the table. It certainly didn't feel like an Izakaya apart from the food.
Lastly, menu options were good value and tasty. It would make a TON of sense to have a degustation menu intended to be shared though, as many people want to taste different exotic flavors but don't want to eat a full-sized meal (it's an...
Read moreI ordered a takeaway from this place and it wasn't the best experience. Due to payment problems and various messages from the owners that didn't make sense, I didn't get my food until several hours after ordering. Anyway, the food was kind of worth the troubles as it was so good! I ordered some spring rolls and gyozas which were both really good (but a little expensive) and it came with some nice sauces. The spring rolls are only mini ones, but they've been the only ones I've been able to find on the whole island, as Japanese/Chinese restaurants are in short supply here. Anyway, I imagine it would be better to just eat there instead of ordering a takeaway and despite the bad experiences, I do recommend the food as it...
Read moreDelicious food and great place to get out of the currently cold Floripa for some hot ramen. We had the handmade pumpkin gyoza to share, followed by the vegetarian ramen for me and seafood ramen for my partner. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options across the menu.
The menu itself is on a digital device which the server translated to English for us.
We also had two delicious cocktails which included homemade sodas.
All in all, fantastic place to visit when in the area. Worth noting, the server (likely accidentally) pressed to charge our card in our home currency rather than local Brazilian $. Maybe it isn’t common to get foreign cards, but will save everyone money to charge in...
