This Japanese restaurant is located in the Manaira Shopping Mall—it must’ve opened just recently, because the last time I was here (back in March), it didn’t exist. It replaced another Japanese restaurant that was at this location and believe me, it’s a big improvement! You have to judge a restaurant by its competition. Here in the state of Paraiba in Brazil, you really don’t have any great options for Japanese food or sushi. Compared to the others that I have tried, I really enjoyed it. They had a great selection to choose from at their sushi bar/buffet as well as a sashimi station. The fish was all very fresh, the rice was not overly vinegary and the presentation was attractive. The service was good and the staff were friendly and observed all the proper safety precautions under our current conditions. Their prices are also very reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised, because the quality was above what you’d expect to find in a shopping mall—the dining area is within the restaurant, so it’s not like a food stand in a food court, but much more like a regular restaurant.
