Zanzibar — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata de Salvador

The view is great. Food is just OK. Service is terrible. Go elsewhere. You have plenty of options in the same street. We were looking forward to our lunch at Zanzibar just to be deeply disappointed. We asked to change the vodka to cachaca in one of the drinks just to be informed that was not possible as the drink was conceived with vodka. Apparently the owner thinks he is the master of mixology and chooses not to listen to customers. The food took AGES to arrive. The moqueca was oily and overcooked. Staff gives the impression that you should feel honoured to be served however they like. Very arrogant...

We had the fish moqueca and it tasted burnt and so incredibly salty. It was very unpleasant. The staff were unenthused and the service was very slow. We ended up waiting nearly an hour for the food to come out, and we ended up only being able to eat a quarter of it because of how poor it was. The drinks were fresh and yummy and the tree in the middle of the courtyard is beautiful. But that is all I can say that is good about Zanzibar.

A fantastic place to have dinner in Salvador. If you can make for the sunset, you may get some gorgeous pictures from Historical Salvador (they are very instragramable). The restaurant itself it beautiful and cozy. The food is just gorgeous. We ordered different types of moquecas and other traditional dishes, and everything was superb. The spirits were also very tasty. Never mind the translations of the dishes to English... I reckon Google Translate did it, and they can...
