The supposedly cool statements lacing the restaurant such as "A Origem é o Destino" and "Aqui tem borogodó"are just empty statments, like the restaurant itself. However, the statement that rightly reflects its attitude towards customers is "Avaracy is Stupidity". As there is no othre way to describe my terrible experience there. having beeen highly recommended by a couple of friends, I went there for an early dinner last Friday, 15 March, with my wife and another couple. The appetizers, food and dinks were honest to good and the service midddling to fair, a good restaurant experience overall, until we asked for the bill. After checking the the bill amount was correct, having just returned from a year in Tokyo, Japan, I asked the waiter to split the bill between two, and signed off my credit card charge without looking at the amount. My friend gave the waitewr his credit card to pay for the other half and when he checked the amount inputed by the waiter, he saw that it was way above half, rather 2/3 of the total bill! I then checked my card receipt and saw that the waiter had charged me exactly the same amount, making the bill almost 50% higher. The waiter could not provide any explanation for his action. It is really sad, to say the least, that the management of a restaurant of a supposedly high standard located within a social club of which I'm a member, resorts to such vile practices. I'll never set my foot there again and will certainly tell all my friends and contacts to avoid such a cheating...

Casa Camolese is a refined, beautifully decorated restaurant with excellent drinks and beer, and good nibbles. We visited it on a Monday evening for dinner, so the place wasn't crowded, it was perfect for us. We initially sat inside (more of a fine dining experience - cloth napkins, gorgeous plates made of soap stone, excellent service) then we were transferred outside, since they knew we wanted to watch the horse race (casual, relaxed but the server was definitely not as attentive, and the four of us noticed it.)
The brewery offers four beers - all named after beloved female relatives, including the dog. Greta and Flora (APA and IPA, respectfully) were a hit. I ordered Casa Camolese's rendition of a Moscow Mule and fell in love with it, especially the ginger infused foam on top -- fabulous! The appetizers were really tasty (bruschetta, burrata and steak tartare.) The entrees weren't as exciting as the first nibbles, though (Lamb Risotto and Carbonara pasta.)
Casa Camolese started very strong - excellent drinks, beautiful indoor space with original touches, great location, fine appetizers, great service but it ended on a slightly less interesting note (hence the four stars.) Yet, I would come back in a heartbeat next time...

We were in the Botanic Park and decided to check out this restaurant across the street. They have a very beautiful terrace, green and well-maintained, but unfortunately, there were only seats inside. We were also drawn in by the fact that they brew their own beer. The interior is simple but nice.
Food: First of all, we tried the beer. We went with the strong ale. My husband knows a lot about beers and he really enjoyed this one. It had a rich, balanced, and full-bodied flavor with a slight bitterness on the aftertaste. We chose a sausage pizza to go with the beer, but it turned out to be a calzone, which is probably a plus. The dough was thin and crispy, with a lot of filling, tasty sausage, and cheese. The pizza was cooked perfectly! They have a professional wood-fired oven in the open kitchen.
Service: The service was decent, but it was a bit slow. We had to flag down our waiter a few times.
Conclusion: I recommend this restaurant, even though it’s hard to judge the entire menu based on just the pizza. However, the restaurant atmosphere, the local beer, everything gave us a...
