Disappointing 20th Birthday Celebration at Hoots Gastro Pub
We reserved a table for 10 guests to celebrate my son's 20th birthday, but the experience was a letdown. My son chose Hoots because he thought it would be a reggae night, like last time. However, it was rock night, and we couldn't store our cake due to lack of facilities.
The service was slow, and the music was painfully loud, making conversation impossible. My son got a tattoo while waiting for our drinks, which took ages to arrive. When he asked to leave due to the loud music, we were surprised with a hefty cover charge.
We wanted to move to the garden area, but the waiter said we'd need to close our tab first. The manager insisted we pay cover charges for at least two people, despite explaining the situation. We left with 4 untouched drinks, having spent R$184.70.
The frustrating service ruined the experience. If the service had been better, we would have stayed and enjoyed the place. Instead, we left with disgust and ended up going elsewhere for dinner. The place looked nice, but the service was a major letdown. Not...
Read moreParking around is difficult luckily they offer valet parking for R$ 20.00. I recommend you have reservations and be punctual they only hold your table for 10 minutes ( I love the concept) The inside looks like an authentic Irish pub very laid back and chill. Inside you can enjoy live music mostly English songs a R$ 20.00 cover charge per person is required. Food prices are reasonable, I DO NOT recommend 1. the chicken nachos 🧀 2. Fish and chips are more like fish sticks with wedge potatoes. Not your typical British fish and chips 3. Mandioca was hard and unseasoned lastly, their caipiroska de siriguela was mostly ice with very little fruit. I Do recommend you try File cheddar, Bolinha De carne defumada, Fralda red and Spaten beer. Hoots is unique and one of a kind bringing a new concept to town. Read moreI was at hoots on Sat Aug 12th with my family and had the worse nightmare of my life. My fiancé was cowardly attacked and punched from behind by a guy who was sitting at a table with 15 drunk guys. The group was celebrating a bachelor party and extremely intoxicated. Not only hoots did not have a cut off policy for alcohol, one of the guys loudly stated that he had a gun and was going to kill someone! After the incident the waitress instead of calling the police, she tried to blame my family ( 5 females - including one senior - and only 2 males). I felt extremely disrespected by the waitress and very unsafe at the bar. If a bar keeps serving alcohol to a group who stated they are armed, it will be a matter of time for this place to become a crime scene. It is not a safe bar, specially if you...
