It’s such a shame I can’t give more than 3 stars, because the food was genuinely excellent and the setting is lovely - feet in the sand, live music, a truly beautiful atmosphere. However, the service and management left a lot to be desired and ultimately soured the experience.
We waited over 2.5 hours for our food, which is simply unacceptable. Other tables around us complained in frustration due to similar delays. After waiting 90 minutes, we asked how much longer and were told 30 more minutes - only for another 45 minutes to pass before being told to wait another 15. Why not just be upfront?
To make matters worse, our mains arrived a full 10 minutes before the side dishes. The disorganization was clear. We ended up ordering more drinks just to kill time, which felt like a way to pad the bill rather than accommodate us.
This could be such a special spot, but the experience was completely undermined by poor planning and what seems like a stretched-thin staff. If you can’t deliver a good experience to so many guests, reduce the number of tables or bring in more help. Unfortunately, what should have been a highlight of our evening ended up derailing our plans. A real disappointment, not...
Read moreBy far our worse experience on the island. DO NOT GO HERE! I am fine with paying high prices for a great meal. The fish I got was extremely overcooked and the sauce on top was only sweet and wasn’t good at all. The worse part of the entire experience was that the server forgot my daughter’s food then lied to us and about it and tried to claim it was taking so long because they were getting her a better, fresher type of fish. We know he was lying because we then asked what was taking so long and the manager said he was preparing someone’s food and yet we were the only ones in the restaurant. I usually don’t waste my time with negative reviews but this was so bad the rest of you should know about it. Don’t make the same mistake we did, stay away. This restaurant is all hype and not worth it at all. There are plenty of great restaurants on the island and this is definite NOT...
Read moreExcellent location + excellent seafood + excellent service = a fab start to a fab holiday ! Dining on the beach with the best seafood moqueca we’ve had in Brazil so far + grilled local white fish. The portions are large so ask for a single or half portion. Prices equivalent to a top quality restaurant in any major city so expect to pay that especially for the location & super fresh fabulous seafood. We spent a good few hours of the afternoon here enjoying a leisurely lunch + a few caipirinhas. Our waitress Yasi was excellent - spoke good English & was super friendly. 5 stars for food, service & location. Oh, and the local singer on the guitar crooning some solid tunes with his soothing voice was an...
