There needs to be more than 5 stars as an option when it comes this restaurant and conceriege service 🙂
The owners, Leon and Talia, are my heroes. They have ventured into a business in a country they now call home and have immersed themselves into the community very nicely. They have created a family of local staff including the manager, chef, wait staff etc. Everyone tied to this business is always smiling and genuinely happy to be of assistance - whatever you need. Seriously; I feel like any of them would do anything for you. They all have a great sense of humour and laughter is often heard spilling out into the street.
They also provide a concierge type service - if you need transportation, guides, a tour somewhere etc. it's a one-stop shop. We hooked up with So Da, a tuk tuk driver, through Street Three and had 2 great mornings with him seeing the dolphins and touring his village. Saw how rice noodles are made as well as watched a lively guy "milk" a Palm tree and sell the sap right at the roadside. It was a sweet nectar that I bet would be good to use as a simple syrup in cocktails 😀 We met So Da's mom, dad, sisters, brothers, cousins, uncles, aunts. Asked and answered a lot of questions about Cambodia and Canada and had a great time.
Oh yeah, back to Street Three food. I can't say enough about it. The flavours are mind blowing. Their combination of ingredients and home made things like their relish and coconut cream special sauce are quite creative and delish. We loved the mao sandwich for breakfast. The hubster loved their khmer soul noodle soup and I craved the char cashew nut. (had it twice😋) Their baguettes are yummy and fresh. Baguettes are used for sandwiches, pizza, burger buns, etc. Leon & Talia source whatever they can locally and ingredients are always fresh. Their french press coffee is freakin' amazing. It has a nutty/chocolately taste; I believe they buy the beans at the market.
The live entertainment on Feb 2, 3, 4 was awesome. (Ok it was my hubby so I may be biased). Leon enthusiastically provided him with a venue to play, sing, entertain and do what he absolutely loves to do. The hubster doesn't accept money and doesn't want to take away jobs from local talent. He just loves to play. Thank you Leon & Talia for providing that space and the great atmosphere for live music.

Read moreAmazing place with great food and lovely cats and a team who are both super friendly. We ordered a lime soda, a Passion fruit soda, a portion of mango spring rolls, the Tofu char kdao and a tofu satay noodle bowl. Everything tastes amazing and I think the satay noodle bowl was my favourite food in Cambodia so far. I'd say that I didn't tasted the mango spring rolls but they were still nice - a bit too massive to have with a main so I'd order it with more starters if you get full easily like us. The line soda was actually lovely and the perfect balance between soda, lime and sweet. They have a Spotify playlist QR code that is stuck on the walls, a lovely touch! The cats were so friendly! They just wanted cuddles all the time. The male kitten was very keen on some food but there are signs around that ask you to never feed them. He'll still try his best 😍 it's very cute to watch him play-fight with his mother too. The entire lunch was either $12 or $16, I don't remember. But it wasn't a lot. I will note that our friends, who arrived 5 minutes after us, didn't get their food till after we'd finished eating. There was a mixup but I can't not mention it, for transparency. Amazingly, I'm now writing this from across the road to their sister branch in siem reap. Definitely visiting that one based on the amazing experience we had! Such a lovely vibe and it was a real highlight of our...
Read moreThe Maitre d of this restaurant touched mine and my friends shoulders several times while we were eating making us extremely uncomfortable while we were there. After we finished eating, they tapped my stomach, and made an inappropriate comment on my belly and my weight making us want to get out of there as soon as possible.
On the topic of food. It wasn't fantastic either. If I ever came back to krache I would absolutely steer clear of this restaurant and spend my time and my money literally anywhere else. If you want a comfortable dining experience I would suggest you do the same.
EDIT for clarity: changed HE to THEY in the first paragraph. My mistake for assuming the person who waved us in from the street and waited on us the whole night was male, but it was absolutely someone who worked at the restaurant, OR someone who was being enabled by the restaurant as they were constantly talking to the other staff members. This does not change the fact that their behaviour was completely and utterly inappropriate. My...
