Edit to add I would love if you brought back the Impossible burger. The beyond burger is just yuck and your new bean burger is rather disappointing as far as plant burgers go. Itâs so mushy and it needs more substance like a nut additive or something. The hardest part about finding a good home made plant burger is finding one with a good binding agent, without eggs theyâre often mushy. For me the patty needs more texture. It just really feels like a thick bean spread more than a patty, similar to times Iâve made my own burgers from recipes online and been disappointed with the outcome. I loved the old burger with the Impossible burger but I am so sad that it has been changed :( it really set you aside from the other local places where you can get a variety of these burgers but none like yours complete with condiments and cheese
I usually avoid ordering burgers when eating out because they are for the most part, always overpriced and always underwhelming. That was not the case tonight at BRGR BRGR. I am vegan so, for one, its nice that they not only have options, but GOOD options. 2 kinds of patties (Impossible and Beyond), vegan cheese, really good NOT dry or hard vegan buns, and they make a vegan version of their burger sauce which is much appreciated. Most places have no vegan cheese option, sometimes they have no bun choices so you have to get a lettuce wrap, and many have no mayo type spread for the burger and these things are what make a good burger! It was honestly the most delicious burger I have ever had, vegan or not. I donât know what they did to this Impossible burger but it beats every other place that has them or the Beyond burger by a million. Also ordered a side of fries, my boyfriend got a burger that was on special, and onion rings. The fries were super crispy and tasty, the onion rings and burger he liked just as much as I did mine. Really was worth the price to us honestly, and itâs not like it was more than you would pay at any other sit down restaurant. We will definitely be back! ..... Also want to throw out a suggestion and let management know if you ever wanted to put a vegan chikn burger and onion rings or caesar salad on your menu youâd have my...
Read moreI have given it my all to have Brgr Brgr on my favourite local eats lists. On multiple occasions I have gone in to try and convince myself that I was maybe being a little too critical of the new restaurant, but every single time I have gone in to eat there has been something that ruined my experience. The first time I went in, I ordered a Brgr and a beer. After waiting something like 40 minutes, I got my Brgr. But no beer. I had to go up 3 separate occasions before finally getting my beer, long after I was done eating. I was not expecting to be sitting in a burger joint for almost an hour and a half. My second experience was even worse. My fiancĂ©e and I decided to give it another try, getting a Brgr each and one side of fries, no drinks. We then watched a group of roughly 10 you g guys order after us, one at a time, and they all got their food before us, leaving the two of us waiting 40 minutes once again for food. Awful second impression and redeeming moment . Finally after months of not eating there, my fiancĂ©e and gave them one more chance. It was dead, we were the only customers in the place. We ordered our food , took it to go so the girls working wouldnât have to wipe down more tables. Two brgrs and fries. Of course, our patties were burned. Not a single other customer and they couldnât focus on making our brgrs. The chances of us going back there are very slim. To summarize how I feel about Brgr Brgr: -Overpriced (Itâs like $50 for two peopleâs combos) -Poor service, aside from the girls working who are nice -The Brgr patties have a bite to them, I like a bite, but not everyone does. Just be sure yours isnât burned. Being someone who is quite connected with the Abbotsford community and constantly supporting local businesses, it saddens me have to write a review like this. Maybe theyâll get it together in another year.
Drop those absurd prices Prioritize your customers properly Pay attention to the food youâre putting out Lastly, change my...
Read moreIâve heard great things about this place, so the Mrs and I decided to pop in and see what all the hub-hub is all about. The atmosphere is great. Lots of light and seating. Iâm looking forward to sitting on the patio this summer.
After our first bites, you notice the difference right away. Hand pressed patties, fresh ingredients, homemade gravy, âItâs Gold Jerry!!â. The wifeâs first comment: the burgers donât leave you with that heavy feeling.
We got the beef burger and the smokehouse burger with a poutine to share. The burgers taste great with a bit of heat coming from the homemade rub they add.
The critical part in me says the gravy could use a tad more salt as it was âalmost thereâ for the poutine. The curds were bang on, but the gravy kinda let âem down. Whether itâs a beef base or veggie base, they offer gluten-free, Veggie and Vegan option âBRGRsâ that cover everyoneâs palette.
The other critical comment was dessert. I was so looking forward to the WFFL WFFL (waffle). âBirchwood Dairy Soft Serve Vanilla Ice Cream with chunks of Belgian Waffle and Drizzled with Salted Black Porter Caramel Sausâ⊠sounds amazing⊠everything was on point except the waffle chunks were totally undercooked. Even though they looked toasted, They were still doughy inside and bitter tasting. Now is that supposed to be like that? Or were the waffles rushed a bit in the cook??? All I know is that I couldnât finish my dessert no matter how much of that amazing ice cream and caramel sauce I tried to drown it with.
Speaking of drowningâŠ. The beers on tap were fabulous. A fine selection from local microbrews makes everything better. My tummy was...
