Great coffee! Love their traditional cappuccino and mocha.
Edit:
This used to be my favorite café in the Abbotsford area. Although since my last few visits, I've been disappointed with their coffee and service.
I'm breaking down some of my favorite items and how they compare with the nearby cafés.
Coffees: Traditional Cappuccino (8oz): It's decent, although the flavor and taste have not been consistent.
Cortado: I was surprised to learn that their Cortado is 8oz! I'm used to a 4 oz Cortado. When asked, the barista rolled her eyes and said it's 8oz.
Mocha: They had one of the best Mocha. After JJ beans, I felt they were a close second. Although the quality of their mocha has significantly dropped. I don't think I'll order this drink again.
Bakery items: I love their croissants! They had a flat pistachio chocolate croissant, which was excellent. Their tiramisu is delicious and very authentic.
Service: Their service used to be excellent. But in my last visit, I had some unpleasant experience when ordering a cortado. I was really surprised she rolled her eyes when I mentioned I was expecting a 4oz cortado. I was surprised because I mentioned it in a friendly tone.
Coffee beans: I tried their espresso roast a few times. They don't stand out against other local roasters from the Vancouver / Greater...
Read moreSecond visit - still not impressed. Was told it was the best coffee in town - maybe the coffee is good, but not my drinks! Not by a long shot! I will say the service was great, but I had a chai latte - had to send it back 3x's to get it hot. I was told the servers heat it until it feels 'hot to touch'.. Not sure what that means because the drink was lukewarm each time.. finally just gave up trying to get it 'hot'. ( To her credit the server finally just gave me a 'free' drink card.). Also, the chai latte is not that great, altho my friend said her green tea latte was good AND she finally got her's hot. Anyways.. this is my second time there and it was the same problem the first time - lukewarm drinks. I might try one more time and just have a regular coffee and see if that is as good as I was told. Baked goods are good. Haven't tried the sandwiches but they looked good as well. Not much selection at all for gluten free that I could see. Kinda feels like it's more effort than its' worth, but I'm always willing to give things...
Read moreWhile this was my favourite coffee shop downtown, my recent experience has me never wanting to return. I work with a local event company and had a run in with the owner during Berry Fest. After asking them to move their tent back 3 ft so it's flush with the curb, the owner yelled at me and started accusing me of trying to ruin his business. I was doing my job, making sure the lanes were clear so more pedestrians could move about the space. I understand he was angry about the position of a food truck that had nothing to do with me, but yelling and throwing a fit at an employee is not the way to handle your frustrations. It's very disappointing because I went there all the time and would bring friends often. That won't be...
