Not sure why they won’t let you order a cake when you actually go to their store. I was told “it’s easier to get what you want if you fill out the online order form.” I said, “can’t I just tell you what I want?” The answer? Nope. Why have a storefront if nobody can order a cake there? I’ll NEVER order a cake from a place so out of touch with reality. Would have taken them a minute tops to take my order. Now they lost a customer for life.
Edit in response to the owner:
First off, I get why you have a policy. You obviously created your online order form to deal with the pandemic’s effects on your ability to process orders. If the government says you can only have one person in your store at a time, you have to figure out a way to take orders somehow that allows your business to flourish. I get that. I wrote a response not because I couldn’t comprehend how your establishment has this policy. I wrote my response because this policy seems to be more important to your business than dealing with actual people. And, it seems flawed as the pandemic restrictions continue to be lifted across the province and people are able to visit stores again. Now, it’s not easier for me to fill out an online order form if I’m in the area shopping and I decide to stop in and make a purchase. It definitely does not take me 45 minutes to tell a store clerk, in person, my non-custom order for a standard chocolate cake. And there was no one outside the store waiting to get in that would have been putting pressure on the safety of your one employee who came down to see who had entered the store. This could all have been quickly assessed by someone working at your business with a 2-second glance out your windows and 1 minute to actually talk to me and be willing to hear me out. And I shouldn’t have to ask to the see the manager just to get normal service from a business. I realize that you feel your cakes must be the best in the city and thus people will be willing to work with your business’ quirks, but come on, you’re not the only place to get a...
Read moreI bought a $350 cake from here. One tier was supposed to be white birthday cake and the second Oreo. She made the whole cake chocolate leaving some of my family members without cake. She saw nothing wrong with this and offered me a measly refund of $35. Definitely would not recommend. Didn’t deliver what I ordered and paid for. No empathy or remorse. Would not go back.
Edit- response to owners response -
$35 doesn’t cover half of a cake that is not the flavour you ordered. I find it insulting that you’re continually minimizing the huge mistake you made. Just because you gave me an edible cake doesn’t mean it’s okay to give me a cake I didn’t order or pay for. Please take accountability and compensate for your mistakes instead of trying to justify them. Anyone can see how insulting that is. Stop making excuses. You told me $200 was for the cakes. The rest for decor and what not. I should be getting half of the $200 back since half of it wasn’t what I ordered. Do you want me to bring it to you? What does it matter if it’s edible ( I would hope a cake you sell would be) if it isn’t what I ordered? I like that you have responded to my reviews across multiple sites showing just how little understanding you have. Thanks for making your bottom line more important than customer satisfaction. At least now...
Read moreNO HUMANITY! I was in desperate need of help as a cake I had got made for a family member had collapsed to the side (this cake was from elsewhere). This was the nearest bakery to me so I drove over seeking help to just remove the top tier of the cake (the bottom was already ruined, I was very desperate to save the top, driving around was ruining that too). I even said I would pay them to just come out to my car that was parked in front of the shop to just lift the top tier off. It would have only taken 5 minutes to do. But I was told they are too busy. So I decided I would do it myself as I had no choice left...so I asked for a cake box...they decided to charge me $5 for this box, I had to run out to go grab my wallet. I walked out of the shop almost in tears holding this $5 box thinking what has become of humanity. (BUT, then I made a phone call to a different Bakery just down the street and they went above and beyond to help at no cost). Its not just about money, sometimes you have to simply be a good human. Especially if someone is so desperate for help and has come to your doorstep. Anyhow, we have got a few cakes from this shop but will never be going here...
