Today, I was looking forward to trying this coffee shop for the first time. After my experience, I will not be back. This is based on the service of the staff. I was line with one person in front of me, my friend was behind me, behind her were two other ladies. While the cashier was helping the man in front in me, she asked me if I was with the people at the long table, apparently it was some association, or work meeting. There were several folks at the table. Then, I was asked if I minded if the other people in line were served before me because they were with the group. I said I didn't mind, really what was I supposed to say without sounding rude. My friend and I ordered, paid for our drinks. The same cashier said she would bring the drinks to our table. After 20 minutes of waiting, and watching other people being served, my friend went up to the counter to ask if they had forgotten about us. The server said no I have not forgotten about you. It was another 10 to 15 minutes before the server brought us our cappuccinos. Both caps were lukewarm,it was obvious that the drinks had been sitting for too long before they were served. The server was noticeably irritated when my friend asked for a spoon. He shuffled back to the table a few minutes later with a spoon. We could have got up to get our spoon, but he said he would get it. The staff should be trained on how to treat every customer in the same manner.I felt less valued as a customer, not a nice experience. My time is just as valuable as the folks at the big table. As I said I won't be back, and I will not be recommending this cafe to my friends. There are much better coffee shops in this town: Wired Monk,...
Read moreThe first time I went to Amarti Café was during the Oscar Watch Party on a Sunday, when any other time the business would be closed. I really enjoyed my time there and got to socialize with some of the guests that came. I even had the opportunity to try the café’s drinks and desserts.
When I came as an Oscar party guest, I was given a Charcutier plate and a glass of wine when I gave them my ticket. They were a great appetizer. As for their menu choices I had the Salted Vanilla Bean Latte. The drink was fantastic and did not need any added sugar for taste. I also had their Cortado, and I found it strong yet flavourful. I had their Cookies’n’Cream cake, which I found very rich yet enjoyable throughout eating it.
The interior of the cafe is very modern-looking with a lot of space. I like the mild lighting inside the business and the fact that they use garden lights and antiquated furniture adds some hospitable quality to it. The staff were very courteous when I was there, even when they were busy hosting the party.
Overall, this is an excellent café to go to frequent at and would very much like to stop...
Read moreReally lovely place, with just the right vibe. Comfortable place to hang out and drink and chat. The two staff there were really helpful and friendly. They were more than happy to adjust the sweetness levels on some of the other drinks like the matcha latte. It’s a coffee shop so that’s the first thing it needs to deliver and it does! The cappuccino was very nice, easy to drink, nothing particularly offensive about the taste profile but still telling you very strongly “I am coffee”. It ain’t just mildly flavoured milk. We also sampled almond croissant and scones and I’d give these a big thumbs up. The croissant in particular paired very well with the cappuccino. The scone less so, I think it works better with the tea. So far this is easily the best coffee joint we sampled in Abby, better than that other well known place (which is less comfortable and had funky tasting coffee). If I were in the area, would definitely return. Highly...
