Kira Sushi — Restaurant in Abbotsford

I was quite disappointed in the quality of the sushi here given that I always had good experiences when it was known as Mura Sushi. New owners I guess. My standard chirashi don test was failed miserably. The menu did say that it was 10 pieces over rice but I thought it must be wrong because I've never had a restaurant serve less than 14 pieces for the same price. The selection was not good either, 2 farmed salmon, 2 tuna, 2 fatty tuna, 1 surf clam, 1 shrimp, and 2 sweet egg. No octopus, or sockeye, or snapper, not even any bbq eel. The menu warned me though. Sushi Te gave me 22 pieces for the same price last time.

What really dropped this to a two star review though was the rice. Both in the bowl and on the rolls it tasted unseasoned and was mushy. The ratio was also off on the full size rolls, not enough filling to the amount of rice. It felt like what you'd expect from an all-you-can-eat sushi buffet at Bellis Fair.

As close as it is to where I now live I will not...

Used to be a regular & say this place is highly recommended. Lately I can't say I've been impressed at all.

What I've personally had for food isn't always terrible ..but trying to get food within the last hour they're open is seemingly impossible. They just won't take orders.

The last time I tried to order, they messed up my order entirely and then argued with me about it. Asking me if I even knew what a California roll was lol.. yes, be condescending. I'm sure it's great for business.

Maybe it's just me~ but I feel like if a restaurant outright messes up your order, they should politely address the situation instead of being rude about having to correct it..

And no business should state that it's open until a certain time if they close an hour prior. Just be honest, and say you're calling it quits when you shut everything down and be...

Food is good.. my daughter and I were regulars as we live nearby we would go a few times a month. Within the last year their employee has changed a few times.

We usually either pick up and leave or eat there. Last time we went, we ordered online and showed up maybe 10 mins before the “ready time” that I had selected. My daughter went inside to get the food. She was told it would be a 10 min wait, she said it was fine.

They were sitting at a table eating and relaxing and made it seem like our order was such an inconvenience. They scoffed about having to make it, handed it to her (on time, not a minute sooner) and we left. That was about 6 months ago. We didn’t inconvenience them with our order since.

So basically - food is good, manager/owners lack basic...
