Feedback for Masala Art Indian Restaurant, Abbotsford, BC.
To the Management, I am writing to provide feedback on my first dining experience at your establishment.
While certain aspects of our visit were truly outstanding, there are a few areas that, if addressed, would significantly enhance the overall customer experience.
Upon entering, my initial impression was that the ambiance didn't quite match what I might consider a "fancy" restaurant. Our first interaction with our server also began a little awkwardly. When I asked, "How are you?" I didn't receive an immediate response. After repeating the question, he apologized and replied with a smile, stating he was fine. While a minor point, a warm and prompt greeting sets a positive tone.
However, once the food arrived, our perceptions quickly changed. We ordered the Lamb Masala, Biryani Shrimp Rice, and Garlic Naan, followed by Chai tea. I must commend your kitchen – the Lamb Masala was truly excellent, one of the best I've ever tasted. The Garlic Naan was also exceptional; undoubtedly the best we have ever had. The Chai tea was very good as well. This experience truly affirmed the saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover."
Regarding the facilities, I visited the men's washroom, which was clean, and I appreciated that the soap dispenser and hand dryer were both functional and efficient. However, there was no toilet paper available. Thankfully, paper hand towels were nearby, which I had to use. Ensuring restrooms are fully stocked with essentials is a fundamental aspect of customer comfort.
Finally, while the quality of the Lamb Masala and Naan was outstanding, we found the portions, particularly for the lamb, to be quite small given the price point. The Biryani Shrimp Rice was satisfactory, but didn't reach the same high standard as the other dishes.
In summary, your culinary team delivers truly remarkable dishes, especially the Lamb Masala and Garlic Naan. We would certainly consider returning, but the overall value proposition—considering both portion sizes and pricing—would need to be more aligned with our expectations for us to become regular patrons as we just moved to Abbotsford.

Read moreGreat portion sizes at a great price. Had a great experience as a first-timer. I have since returned multiple times, but unfortunately, my experience hasn't gotten better. Getting a mild curry makes it nearly tasteless. Getting a medium curry makes the first few bites enjoyable, and the rest almost painful and flavourless. I can't even imagine what hot tastes like! If they manage to balance flavour with spice, they would be at the top of their game, but somehow, everything has become about spice and not flavour, and this tendency has carried over into their appetizers and other dishes as well. Maybe this is how some people like it...? But I would love to be able to taste the distinct flavours of different curries (butter chicken, masala, korma etc.). As it stands, they are all the same (disappointing). Their saving grace is the...
