Papa Murphy's Pizza (Take n Bake) — Restaurant in Airdrie

Good pizza, disappointing and dishonest service...

Tried Papa Murphys tonight. Pizza was quite good. Unfortunately, we will not be ordeing from there again. We received a menu in the mail this week and thought we would try it out. We called them up 5: 15 Friday night and placed an order for delivery. Who ever I spoke with on the phone was very friendly and professional. They told me they were very busy on this opening weekend and delivery would be about 1 hour. That was fine and we placed our order. At 7:00 pm, 1 hour and 45 minutes after I ordered, I called to see the status of our order. I told them I placed my order nearly 2 hours ago. They quickly checked and told me my order was being packaged up as we spoke. They were apologetic and that was fine. I get it. New place, very busy and working the bugs out. Fast forward 1 hour to 8:00 pm. We realised that what we we're told on the phone was untrue and our order was not in fact being packaged for delivery. I received a call from the delivery driver at 8pm that he was on his way. Nearly 3 hours after our order was placed, or pizza arrived. I get it. This is a new place. There will be issues with things such as this until they find their groove. The issue I have is being miss led into believing my order will be arriving very soon when I called at 7pm. Instead of telling me the honest truth that my food had not been prepped yet, I was lied to to make me think my order was ready and would arrive soon. I would have prefered the truth. That I can respect. I would have cancelled my order, but would have definatly tried ordering again on another day. The pizza was great, and I wish I had not been treated this way. Instead I was lied to in order for this place to make a sale. If I was managing this place, I would have made sure this late order was delivered free of charge. The delivery driver was great by the way. I hope he didn't have to deal with to many disappointed customers tonight.

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE! Placed an order on May 2, 2020 through their online ordering system only to have the website crash after entering in my payment. Called the store to see if they received it because I didn't want to be double charged and was told they did not so I proceeded to place an order on the phone - to my surprise, there was a deal so my order came out a bit cheaper than the online ordering. Went to pick up the pizza and proceeded to pay with debit but after a few days I noticed there was a charge from Papa Murphy's on my credit card statement with a transaction date of May 3, 2020. Contacted the store and was told to come in with both statements showing the two charges and upon my husband's arrival, was told that they didn't have any reference of the online order in their system so we would have to contact head office. Well of course they wouldn't have reference of the order - that's what they told us the first time! My husband wasted his time going to the store to show both statements and on top of that, he wasn't even given a phone number for the head office to contact nor does their online website have a contact phone number. Finally found a contact email so I went ahead to request a refund but was told there was an error on my end when entering in my credit card info. Apparently the amount on my credit card was just a pre-authorization and would be dropped since the order didn't go through. Well.. I know for a fact it's not a pre-auth because it showed up as posted, not pending and even if it was a pre-auth... it's been 5 business days and hasn't been "dropped". I would highly suggest refraining from using their online ordering system unless you want to be charged twice - online and in store. I did not expect to pay $61...

I am a big fan of Papa Murphy’s Pizza but this was a very poor location.

It’s just opened so I get it is busy and they are learning. I wasn’t quite expecting a 45 minute wait to get one take and bake pizza, but I guess it’ll slow down with time. Every other Papa Murphys I’ve been to has been an in and out in 5 mins kind of place with the basic pizzas already pre-made.

The big problem was the snarky young guy taking orders. I got to watch a lineup of people wait and then get berated by this guy for saying their phone numbers and name wrong. Only a couple people got told it was going to be such a long wait and for some reason only after they paid. A few people just gave up got refunds right there. Others squeezed into the tiny hot shop and just endured. I watched the guy argue with two other customers that they hadn’t paid online until they got out their online credit card statements to show they had. Every time someone asked for updates on their order no one really knew where it was and they just were told you should have ordered online. Even those who had ordered online still had to wait and got their orders bit by bit. The guy giving out the orders was smiling and being friendly but everyone else just seemed miserable. It just was a really tense and unpleasant place to stuck in for close to an hour.

This shop is just too small, unorganized and lacking in customer service to really recommend at the moment. I’ll be driving to Calgary to one of the better...
