Alnoor Kebab & Sweets Restaurant — Restaurant in Ajax

Well where to start. Called them to order 3 puris. The owner took the call and confirmed. I asked to cost, he said $9.99 and that it will be ready in 30min.

I got there and when he passed on the payment terminal towards me it was showing $33 and was very nicely on the tip menu showing first option as 15%

I was confused, asked him if he’s charging me for correct order as I just ordered 3 puris and he told me it’s $9.99 to which he replied yes 3 puri combos at $9.99 EACH!! I’m like but I said three puris like actual 3 puris

Surprisingly he refused to budge from the charges, told me he was busy and must have misheard and that he’s sorry but I have to pay the full amount. I told him we are just two people and it will all go to waste and if he accepts some blame then why should I buy the incorrect order; but he stayed indifferent. Not wanting to make a fuss as there were his relatives in the restaurant, I paid and left.

As I was leaving he said puris will be nice and soft for at least a couple of days and I can eat leftovers later … well I live 5min away and when we started eating, half the puri crumbled into crispy crumbs.

Wether it was the fact that I paid 3x more for it or if they were actually not very good, the food itself wasn’t the best..

Rating for food itself 3 stars. But for not being courteous and helping, I’d give him 1 star and safe to say will never be...

Just had the honour of wasting $57.80 at this restaurant. Would have been more satisfying to throw that money in toilet and flush the toilet gently with my own hands. At least I would not have wasted an hour on top of the money that I lost. A filthy place that is perfect for someone who wants to throw up but cant. Just walk in and the smell would do the magic in few minutes. If that still doesn't work, order some food and make the right choice by dining in. That should do it by the time you are done tasting whatever you ordered. If you have ever been slapped on the face in a store while asking for help from staff, trust me, you still got better customer service than the awesome Al-Noor. The food is beyond amazing, Whatever I requested to be spicy was not and whatever I requested for kids to be not spicy, was more spicy than any thing else under the sun. Horrible experience. Trust me, you are better off to sleep/stay hungry than going...

For me, this place gets a 5 star rating for their amazing selection of fresh sweets and dedicated owner. I searched three different stores before I can upon Al Noor. I walked in and immediately felt welcomed as a man, I assumed was the owner, asked me what I would like. He immediately knew I wanted them for Diwali and was happy to end my search for fresh sweets! They have spent more than 10 years at their location on Harwood just south of the 401 and I can see why! At first I only saw their every day selection and decided on a smaller box, however when the owner showed me their Diwali stock of fresh sweets I couldn't help myself! I ended walking out with almost $20 worth of sweets which was enough to feed my in-laws family (family of 10-15) with some to spare! And the sweets were fantastic! Exactly what I was looking for!
