There seems to be a change in ownership of the store. My gf and I have been going to this location for 5 years and never had an issue. The ice cream is amazing but the service from the older staff is horrible and unsatisfactory. However, the younger teens and other staff are very friendly and very good.
I had a stamp card from a while back that was full and ready to be redeemed for a free ice cream, however, the employee (older man, presumably the owner) refused to take my stamp card, he said āwe donāt use that stamp card, thatās the old owners, we have a new one, thatās not oursā at this point Iām shocked by this response, considering the stamp card itself is unique to marble slabā¦I told him Iām a regular customer here and itās not the customers fault there was a change in ownership of the storeā¦you should honor the card for loyalty. He still said no, and didnāt honor itā¦
I didnāt go back to this store for months and so recently I finally went back and AGAIN another bad experience with the staff. I have a work perk that I always use at the same store along with other locations (Toronto, Oshawa, etc) and they have never gave me any issues. The discount code/coupon said āgourmet ice creamā and I was buying a half-liter tub with my own mixin, this lady (older woman, perhaps the wife of the owner?) refused to give me the 15% discount on āhand crafter ice creamā, she said what I was getting is not considered āgourmetā and the coupon I had is only for āgourmetā ice creamā¦I let her know, Iāve been coming here longer than you have been here and Iāve never had any issues so whatās the change now? Itās the same code/coupon, she still refused to honor it. In addition, this employee seemed very miserable and did not look like she wanted to be there, awful communication, kind of rude (gave me a dirty look for asking for more brownie chunks), I also believe this is the reason she did not honor my discount code. People with this attitude and terrible customer service skills should not be working here. Terrible customer satisfaction and an awful experience, especially when I used to enjoy going here and used to have a great relationship with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to start off by saying, I order from this location often, and theyāre usually really good. However, today - I waited normally while the single worker was taking care of a family ahead of me (5-10mins), then I ordered my usual āChocolate Birthday Cake with brownie toppings, oreos and gummy bearsā. Gummy bears are offered, and I didnāt think to look over the counter to see if they actually are - gummy bears (sweet glossy coat) but today they were gummy worms (sour coat) the poster was not the same as the bucket over the counter. I noticed only when the worker mixed in the gummy worms, and didnāt clarify with me before mixing them in my ice cream.
I get to the cash register and I look at it and I tell the worker my concern. They responded with āI only put 2 in there, you can take them out and throw them in the garbageā. I tried to explain that this was not what I asked for - and the poster was incorrect if you only have sour gummy bears. She said āI donāt know, you told me to put them inā. I explained āI ordered gummy bears, but these gummy worms have citric acid around it and thatās now mixed into my ice cream. This is a $9 order so Iām letting you know you should warn your customers for next time.ā She said āokay thanks.ā
Anyways, she wasnāt going to give me a new set and didnāt seem like she even cared. I really just wanted a nice ice cream experience, go in then out. This was disappointing. I paid, pulled the gummy worms out if my ice cream, bits of my ice cream were sour in some parts but overall was āfineā. The experience just put a sour taste in my mouth about this location (pun intended).
Server was Raman K (as per my receipt)
Maybe I shouldnāt have purchased after noticing the bad service. But I just wanted some nice...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhere to begin? Letās start with the lack of blue bubblegum ice cream, DESPITE the flavour list on the website which clearly listed ābubblegum, pink AND bubble gum, blue. Next, we move onto the lukewarm coloured sludge they call āice creamā. Marble slab creamery? More like marble slab sludgery. There is a large variety of toppings, all included and unlimited, but this perk does not make up for the monstrosity they are selling at such inflated prices. My cone was served with a napkin around the bottom, and as I took a bite, I couldnāt tell if it was cone or napkin I was eating. The cones, although served dipped in many toppings, plain, and flavoured, lacked the flavour. What was most disappointing, was the jar near the register labeled ātipsā. I feel bad for the poor newcomers that accidentally tipped before tasting this garbage. I came to this ice cream store for comfort food and bubblegum, blue ice cream. I left discomforted with bubble gum, pink ice cream. I was severely mislead by the smiling customer service representative. She served my overpriced nonsense with a smile, deceiving more than my father. I will...
