Coaldale Bakery — Restaurant in Alberta

The Coaldale Bakery has been serving the community of Coaldale since 1986, but people travel to it from much further distances to purchase their cakes, pastries, specialty breads, buns and other baked goods made fresh daily. What makes their bakery so special? They specialize in European style baked goods and Dutch imports, make wedding cakes, event cakes, and they use real whipping cream in their cakes and pastries! Not enough? Well did I mention it’s also a sit-down restaurant where you can have a quick breakfast, lunch or snack made with real home some ingredients they baked themselves?! Well they are :)! Oh yeah… they cater as well!

This place is always fairly business and has a good share of regular patrons. On my most recent visit I had a turkey wrap with all the fixings and a piece of Oreo cake on the side. They also have a mini-fridge with various drink choices, most are conventional, but there are some unique ones as well like the blackcurrant iced tea I chose. The staff were very quick and efficient, as well as polite. The girl who made our sandwiches and wraps didn’t it in record time while keeping presentation intact, she legit made Subway look slow and inefficient! The wrap was awesome, the ingredients were all very fresh and the Dijon mustard gave it a good kick! The blackcurrant iced tea was also a nice treat over the normal beverage choices. Lastly the Oreo cake was good but not great, it was quite light, fluffy and definitely tasty, but didn’t have quite enough of the usual Oreo flavours I’m used to and expected. Very solid experience, I’d definitely go again for a fast, fresh...

An amazing bakery! We used to drive here from Calgary just for donuts and sandwiches with soup. We have been going here for over 5 years! Got my sister engagement cake ( German chocolate 🤤🤤 ) from here and was going to get my wedding cake from here as well in a few years. But this time we drove from Fort Mac.

Still delicious as always …..however for some reason they went against protocol (normally anything over 2 dozen has to be special ordered is what we were told) to sell one person 5 dozen donuts in the middle of the day 1:30 pm give or take.60 donuts !!!!! So when we got there they were cleaned out!!!! And told us they were not baking more. So maybe just call ahead to see if they still have items for sale. Cause we were only able to get 6 and mostly...

Bakery located Downtown Coaldale. Very well organized and clean establishment. With a variety of products, very well and nicely packed. There are two tables to sit there and enjoy a coffee and a bread. Lots of friends recommended this place. When I finally got to go. I was disappointed. The service wasn't nice, it was my first time there, I didn't know exactly what to order and the cashier was rushing me in a bad mood. There was nobody in the line. I ordered a coffee but it was nothing special just a simple coffee with no other options. The bread donuts and cookies are visually nice but the taste is just way too sweet for me. It's sweet over sweet. I was expecting much more for the price. There is a parking lot and a grocery store...
