Honestly I never write reviews, but I feel I had to on this one. Spent almost $100 on Two burger combos and two things of wings (small portion) and let me tell you I was very unimpressed and wish I would have chosen to go to Carl's Junior next door.
The Burgers were dry, no sauce, & frankly flavorless, we had the BBQ and Mushroom Swiss. The Swiss burger was just a pile of mushrooms mayo mustard and the patty, with the wrong kind of cheese melted on it...more bread & mushroom than anything.
The BBQ burger was bland as well, echoing the other burger.
THE FRIES HAD NO SEASONING AND TASTED LIKE MASHED POTATOES, but like bad mash potatoes, not the good stuff you get during holidays.
Now here is where I got really disappointed "Buffalo Wings" world famous.....the wings we got looked like they were boiled, were undercooked and frankly just sucked.
The boneless bite "Mild" Should change its name to Pablum, because I am pretty sure baby oatmeal has more flavor. " a two star spice rating" is an absolute atrocity against flavor. I have never had bad boneless bites...some how these were bad boneless bites, I literally paid $18 for chicken nuggets with no flavor.
I've never been so disappointed in $100 worth food in my life. It was like expecting to go to Disney Land and ending up at the Westerner days.
The Good: Now with all that being said I do have to say there was one part of the trip that was good, the staff, the cook generally looked like he cared about the food, inspecting each patty as it came off the grill, the cashier was super friendly and nice and had great communication skill's.
I wish I paid $100 for customer service, I would be walking away from this happy but no, spent $100 for food I took 3 bites of.
There is a sign hanging in the restaurant stating "Perfection Takes Time" maybe if I waited a few more hours this food would have been more than...
Read moreI recently visited the Fat Burger at the Red deer, AB location. To my amazement I encountered discrimination in the choice of food I wanted. I was told I would not be able to order the child size chicken tenders meal. Reason I was told... because I am not 12 and under!!
I actually do have children, not that it matters. They were not with me and I guess my youngest is now 13and therefore; according to Fat Burgers policy cannot have a child size meal either.
My question is what does it matter wether I am 12 years or not, Fat Burger still receives my money and be honest that is truly all that matters at the end of the day! Reason for me wanting a child size meal was not because i did not want to spend more money, but because I did not want to eat a full meal. As an adult I should be able to choose how much food I want to eat. Now telling me I must be 12 years and younger to order less food, telling me I cannot receive the service I would like is discrimination.
I actually was asked if the meal was to go! why because I might be buying it for my magical child at home and therefore can order the meal. While my husband ordered his meal to stay. None of this makes a any sense and in the end who pays for the food that keeps Fat Burger in business? Well my guess it is not the children. Not many children 12 and under pay for the children's meals or any other food on the menu.
I was so outraged by this outdated policy. I would like to mention however, the server I had was willing to sell me 2 chicken tenders and I thanked him! However, he made comments three times that he hopes to not get in trouble which is even more ridiculous then the children's menu policy!! He heard what I wanted and provided me with the best service he could. I do not blame him, but Fat Burger does need to change their discriminating menu policy!

Read moreWent in tonight for supper after our movie was done at the theatre across the street. It was 8:30 pm and their sign says that they close at 9pm. Was told by the lady at the counter that we needed to do take out because they are closing (which is understandable). However, instead of having 2 meals plus 2 milkshakes, we ended up just having 16 wings due to the very limited amount of food they had available. When I said to my husband, “it’s weird that they don’t offer much since they close in 1/2 an hour”, the lady at the counter said “sorry we are just closing.” Every fast food joint I have worked at has never said it. Amazing how they were so willing to turn away...
