Gangnam & Coco Red Deer — Restaurant in Alberta

I'm pretty disappointed with this location. I wanted so badly to love it, and I spent about an hour looking through the reviews before I decided to try it out the other day. The reviews led me to believe the food here was going to be amazing and flavorful, but honestly everything just ranged from mediocre to disappointing. Some things that stuck out; The tteokbokki was pretty dry at the top and very flavorless, the soy garlic chicken bites were alright but a good majority of the chicken just didn't have any soy garlic sauce on it at all, and the tapioca pearls in the bubble tea were almost crunchy. Everything else was just sort of plain tasting. Over-all, not horrible but definitely not something I'll be going out of my way to get again. I did four stars for service because everything was packaged...

Fast-casual spot located in the nice petro-canada, so very clean space+bathrooms. We were on the highway so did dine-in, definitely not food you can easily eat in the car. Service is quick though so we were in and out in about 30 mins.

We opted for the bulgogi ramen, pork katsu ramen (add kimchi) and plain dduk bo kki. All were nicely spiced, a little on the sweet side but still hot. The pork was breaded and surprisingly held up well in the soup, it absorbed the broth but didn't fall apart. We also got a little cup of pickled daikon each which was really nice!! Everything for 2 people was about $30.

Sad that the pokemon claw machine wouldn't take my toonie so I couldn't rescue Rowlet :(

Overall it's great stop on gasoline alley if you're in the mood for something that isn't mall...

I had the garlic chicken soy 9 peice bone in. Honestly the chicken was really over cooked. It was tossed is sauce but the chicken was still really dry. Half of the pieces were very random pieces of the chicken like The neck and the less meaty part of a drumstick lol. This was my first experience at this restaurant and I would not recommend it. There is an option to get the boneless but I feel like they just ended up giving me all the pieces of chicken that nobody else wanted that was left over from like the leftover carcasses. It's also inside of a gas station atmosphere is pretty bad. The service is also pretty bad the hostess doesn't smile they ask for a tip even before you've even tried the food even though it's a fast-food...
