I've been coming to Q for just over a month now. This is definitely my favorite place to go in Edmonton after hours. Despite being classed as a cigar room, it is incredibly clean and easy to breathe inside. They ventilate their air about 4x as much as the average restaurant does per hour. This means you can essentially sit a couple metres away from another table smoking and never notice.
They offer a humidor for their in house stash of cigars as well as lock boxes for exclusive members. With that, there is both an inside lounge and outdoor patio which from my understanding is open year round. Both are warm in the winter and easy to breathe in, regardless of how many people are around smoking. A common question I got from my friends was regarding the equipment provided to smoke cigars. They have everything, cutters, lighters/torches, cedar strips, ash trays. And they will even prepare and light them for you. So don't worry, you don't need to know anything about cigars/smoking to have a great time
By far one of the outstanding features of Q is the food. My god is it good. The salmon is to die for, as is the fillet minon and kangaroo burger.... Yes you did read Kangaroo. Absolutely fantastic and worth every penny.
Finally the staff are more than welcoming/friendly. I'm in my early 20s and to be completely honest, I wasn't sure what to expect the first time I went. I couldn't believe how they treated me, so respectful. This place is definitely not what you would expect of a cigar room, Infact anything but. So long as you dress appropriately with regards to the code and respect the staff, they will return the favour. Which in my humble opinion is far more than what can be expected from the competition.
Go to Q, I wish I could give...

Patio is amazing, retractable covered roof, comfy seating, fire tables for the cooler evenings. Didn't really eat, as it was the Grand Opening, so they circled around various appetizers, which were all very delicious.
Cigar selection was great, and considering it is a bar, very reasonably priced. It got a little smoky in-side, but not like it was back in the old days or in the old bingo halls!
The only negative comment I can offer, is that the cocktails we had (Old Fashioned, with Woodford subbed in for Buffalo Trace), were average at best, actually below average, but the price was far above average ran about $20 per drink. I'm hoping that it was early jitters, and they will settle into place, but for an establishment of this nature, to have sub-par cocktails is doing itself a dis-service.
Will visit again to verify the cocktails have gotten better, but it is a nice place to enjoy a cigar if you are...
Read moreFirst time at Q Cigar Room as we were celebrating an event. Due to new Covid restrictions, we sat on the heated patio which was nice and definitely warm enough as the hours passed. Cigar selection was decent. Drinks were ok. My gin sour started to separate as the egg white had not been fully frothed and it lacked flavour. We shared a charcuterie board for 3 and it was ample. 3 firm cheeses on the board though and would have been nice to have at least one less firm cheese. Overall experience was good. Would try it again for sure. NB: they ask you to only dine for 2 hours. Waiter told us our time was coming up and there were other reservations for the table but wasn't sure they would show up. 4 other tables around us were there when we arrived and were not being asked to leave so it was confusing. The reservation apparently didn't arrive though and we were there until 10pm. It just struck us that people there prior to us were not being...
