Sally's — Restaurant in Alberta

Awful. the daytime bar tender is always outside smoking weed. the people are rude. it is the most horrible place to visit on your trip to high river. if you complain about a staff member they get a promotion. the juvenile boucer has no idea what he is doing. He will kick you out of the bar based on stories told to him by idiots who lie. I was accused of stealing from some idiots machine when I have five witnesses that say otherwise. If you argue with an old timer from the city you will lose; On the plus side the daytime bartenders son in law sells drugs out of the trunk of his car. could be good if you need a dealer. the other waiter is the son of an RCMP officer who will tell you all the laws and stick to them. He is also the one who will hold out his hand for a tip to pay for his education. the most political bar in town. Old men never gert served. poor old dude has to get up with his cane to get noticed for a cup of coffee. Night time staff is sick and tired of daytime bartenders boy toys being hired for help, this place is pathetic. say anything and you will be charged like a pit bull by some local who will address you on her own terms depending on her mood. if yoru are a woman don't expect man to buy you a drink before he does you, the men in this town will go out and call you after they are done having a good time and send you an email saying you cummings here. I have not tried another pub in this town but I guarantee you Sally's is not the place to go. the drink prices depend on what the bartender decides she wants to charge you. the kitchen serves good food but they also depend on when they feel like opening. this place is a trainwreck. they used to have pool tournaments but the complaints came in saying the bartender was busy playing pool to serve the customers. Don't get into a confrontation with a local. you are not allowed to have your own opinion because they will literally call you every name in the book. go in, enjoy the food but watch what you say and watdh your change and your payouits from the machines. One day I was paying 5 to 6 bucks for a drink and then it went to 4.75. Whatever the bar tender decides the price should be. This restaurant came highly recommended to us and they didn't disappoint. Super impressed with the cleanliness of the whole place right down to the rungs on the chairs, trust me, my husband and I have been known to walk out if the chairs have dust on them. Cindy the waitress was really friendly and never left us waiting. The food was top notch and was presented beautifully on the plates, hats off to the Chef. We now have two favorite places to go for the best Hamburgers we have had in years, Sally's & Eddie's in Banff. Thanks for a wonderful experience, we can't wait to come back. Larry & Gerry. P.S. Stopped here after a recommendation from the lady at the front desk at the hotel I was staying at. Walked in, place was clean and organized. Comfortable seating, and the food holy cow!! I had the suicide wings, they were ridiculous hot but they had amazing flavour! The poutine was delicious too! I’m sure everything else on the menu is just as good, next time I’m up here working I will be back there to eat. Prices are very reasonable too!
