Bru-Go's has been our favorite coffee place, since we discovered it while on our way to the doctor. They are the only ones who make pumpkin spice anything that isn't too sweet. Their blended drinks are incredible; who knew a blended cappuccino could taste so good?! We've tried several of their featured drinks--aloha latte and oat foam cold brew come to mind--and their baked goods are just as incredible. Nobody else sells a brownie with frosting that is chocolaty but isn't so sweet that your teeth hurt. Plus, they were one of the first coffee shops on the lower island to offer Oat milk.
A few days ago, we stopped it before a long drive up island and didn't realize till we were north of Nanaimo that they had forgotten to give us the scones we'd ordered. No biggie, even though we were looking forward to them, they were swamped while we were there. Anyway, today my husband goes in to pick up coffee, and the owner recognized him and remembered that they'd forgotten the scones. He was floored.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good coffee and baked goods. Plus, they also sell gifts and whatnot from other island businesses, so supporting this coffee shop also helps support other local businesses....
Read moreReally aesthetic little cafe with delicious coffee and food. Was so surprised to find this little gem in Mill Bay, I usually only drive past. We were quite surprised by the amount of treats and food options were available! More than your average coffee shop. As people who prefer to eat mostly plants, we were stoked to find some vegan donuts! They had classic glazed, raspberry filled and maple apple as vegan options and they were insanely delicious! Now I regret knowing this because I will surely pop in for a donut way too often. Oh no. The coffee was really delicious, the oat milk was super frothy and yum.. the only thing was that all drinks were served in a paper cup. Not fun, and super wasteful. I highly recommend serving your cups and food in real cups and plates, it really does change the whole experience and allow people to feel instantly welcomed. I also recommend trying the vegan blt from working culture in victoria and offering a similar vegan option in your coffee shop.. make it so good that everyone raves about it! Ok...
Read moreFive months ago, i sent a review about the inaccessibility of the bathroom for people with disabilities. I was told they have a more accessible bathroom but it was just unfortunately not available that time as they were undergoing work. Well 5 months later again the bathroom is still not accessible. I tried to explain my simple needs to the managers onsite but they were only interested in talking about building codes. A handicap sticker for the larger bathroom and a very bassic simple grab bar would cost less than $77 to accommodate persons with mobility issues. I left a message on their website and they did not even contact me. Here I feel disrespected and unheard. I am taking this to heart for all of us neefing support. I have been using a small scooter for 5 years and this is the very first time I have not been able to use the bathroom and received no...
