SHAME ON YOU!! Mill Bay Sushi

This is not the first time this restaurant disappointed us. We believe is important to give second and third chances. But enough is enough!!

EAT THEIR OVERPRICED FOOD AT YOUR OWN RISK

We just spent $70 on take-out dinner for two. It was truly and seriously below very bad.

Chicken yakitori was recycled battered deep fried chicken on skewers swimming in a honey-like puddle. This was not fresh food. This was left overs being re-used to make a new dish. Unacceptable. Yakitori translates to Grilled chicken for crying out loud!!!

SHAME ON YOU!! Mill Bay Sushi

Their Korean fried rice with prawn was equally disgusting. The prawns where actually frozen mini shrimp. The fried rice had also corn and green peas from frozen.

SHAME ON YOU!! Mill Bay Sushi

Oct. 3, 2020 My family and I had eaten here a few times and also ordered for takeout several times. Out of those experiences we got what we expected. Good food, good service. Nothing remarkable but good overall. However, out last two experiences have definitely tarnished our perception of this place. The orders were prepared in a rush, not fully cooked and they arrived cold. Another dish was prepared absolutely differently than in our previous visits, they used beef instead of salmon. Without consulting or mentioning it when I picked the order up. We’re very disappointed, but it explains why we keep seeing less and less people...

Husband, daughter and I thought a sushi lunch would be a fantastic idea. We arrived to a not so busy lobby, and we're immediately seated to the left of the door. I'll say as a customer who gives fair chances, this place has let us down more than once. The temperature is always freezing. (Even when it's not -7 out) We were brought a pot of tea and cups, without a drink order being taken. Our waitress returned and asked for our orders. We ordered monkey brain, which had cold artificial crab not totally heated through. It was 2/5. Daughter got pork gyōza and gave it 1/5. Asked about the difference between crab roll and special crab roll. We were up sold to try the special crab roll, which literally comes with an entire soft shell crab. It ain't it. The millbay sushi platter is also a miss. Out of 6 rolls our family could only stomach three of the six. There was a roll that had rice, seaweed and deep fried fish skin in it? No sauce on top, no veg. It was a 1/5. And as if that wasn't bad enough... We ordered waters half way through to cleanse the palette. We were brought 3 glasses and a glass jug/carafe of water. We had to pour our own drinks which were filled with black floaties. I'm not talking one or two pieces of pepper that went rogue... Like dirty water.. Won't return to Mill bay sushi again.....

I'm a local who has eaten here well over a hundred times. I'm now changing my 4 stars to 2 stars & now down to 1 stars. I'm polite and curtious, I tip well, and with a bill that is over $100 each time for 2 people. I will not be returning, I've decided to give my business to a restaurant that is actually interested in my business. From the eye rolls and the obvious disgruntled chatter amongst the employees when you show up, to not getting served or even asked for a drink for 30 minutes when they seat you, with barely any other customers there. The staff is more interested in closing up, cleaning the bathroom, as well as the entire restaurant, rather than serving you. Somehow, my chair is still covered in food each time they seat me. The week before, the server forgot 3 of our dishes and looked in the other direction every time we tried to get her attention. My table has been completely forgotten about twice, where all people who arrived after us were served before us. Both times, we walked out after an hour of no service and was given no apology. I would love to support your business, but I'm tired of the poor attitudes, as well as the lack of service from your staff that clearly would rather be at home...

It's a good sushi restaurant. A good atmosphere with attentive staff. The food was delicious. Overall, it was a nice experience! Although there are a few areas on where they could improve on. For example, they seated our group of 5 at a small table for 4, which made it cramped, which left not much space to put our plates. They could have given us a bigger table since the restaurant was nearly empty. Another thing to point out is that a part of our group got their food much earlier than the other part of our group. We still enjoyed our experience, but these are a couple of suggestions to help improve the experience. I would definitely eat there again!
