We came in on the weekend, tired after driving and starving we saw this pub at the ski hill since there was not a lot of places to eat so decided on here. We found a seat inside and waited on the waitress. She brought us water but no menus, I was like ok she should be back any minute here. She wasn't, we ended up waiting about 15 minutes while during that time I was looking around for the waitress to bring us some menus, we finally caught eye contact and she brought us the menus, and then complained about how she was there since 8am and she's been swamped all day long.
Ah ok whatever, when we walked in there was a few people outside and one other table with people inside so I don't understand how it literally took soooo long to bring us food menus. After finally ordering our food and drinks we receive them in a timely manner. While eating we were over hearing a conversation from the waitress and someone else who worked there, it seemed pretty inappropriate for you to talk so loudly and to discuss your wages and how you were complaining about your tip share in front of customers, you should have done that behind closed doors and not in the open so EVERYONE could hear you. Pretty inappropriate. We paid our bill and left, next morning since our inn did not provide breakfast we ended up having to come here again.
We arrived right after 9am as we wanted to get in quickly so we can leave to get onto the ski lift, when we walked through the doors there was cranky pants the waitress. We sat ourselves down and she was faster this time with getting us our menus and coffee and water.
We ordered our food and waited, and waited and waited. We sat for a good 45 minutes before we saw our breakfast, now keep in mind the restaurant was NOT busy a couple tables that's it! When we received our food she didn't bother to bring us any cutlery, we waiting again another good 5 minutes before I could wave her down to get some cutlery because she just vanished, finally got her attention and she brought us the cutlery but not before she gave us another excuse of how busy she is, really?!
We ate and she came by to grab my bf's plate, there was no, can I get you anything else he tried to tell her we wanted our bill but she just took the plate and left, and then there was the waiting game we waited another 10 minutes because once again we couldn't get her attention she went to a table behind us, then walked right past us without saying anything while the whole time we were trying to get her attention its like she was purposely ignoring us and then vanished again! I finally got her attention and we received the bill and left. Overall experience I would not come back because of the service I received, the food was ok it was not great for the pricing, I honestly expected much...
Read moreSo... here it is. Restaurant less than 25% full. No snow, means no guests.. ok. It's trivia night. Wait 5 mins for a table. OK. It's not busy, but no biggie. Server delivers drinks, drops a half+ of a bottle of Corona over the 7 year old's head, back, shirt, pants, hair, splashing a couple of others. No sweat... accidents happen. Rescue napkins on the way.
As an apology, drops a hot chocolate off to said 7 year old. In a canning jar glass, whip cream... extra points. Not even adult temperature. As any 7 year old, she grabs it and takes a pull on a straw. She got 1st degree plus burns down her tongue and throat. I couldn't even hold the glass myself. Too hot.... on the outside. 15 mins later server finally shows up. Says food is on the way. Not. Hand her glass, she complains its too hot to hold. Yah, really, go ask the 7 year old.
Now I'm a bit roasted, but ok, foods coming, doesnt arrive for another 10+ mins. Mistaken burger order (10 year isn't ketchup only as ordered, loaded with mayo, fixings, etc). My $28 burger is inedible. The bottom bun is rock solid.... literally knock on the table hard. Costco Cavendish fries, well, tough to ruin those.
Bring it up to server. Says sorry. Rolls her eyes. Then says to me, we will make it right, I'll drop 10% off your bill. Hahahaha. What! No offer of a fresh edible bun. No. Any apology for the blazing hot chocolate, nope. The Corona.... "oh man, I've never done that before. I don't know what happened...."
Meanwhile, all the tvs in the place are showing Jr all star hockey except the one right above our table... an hour of.... "tsn.. sorry the scheduled program isn't available in your region."
Thanks legends. After being on the hill 30+ years, kiddos voted worst meal and experience ever. 10% off.... it's an insult. Don't bother. Oh... comp'd my burger after further gentle comments of dissatisfaction and a promise to make it better next time..... whaaaaaat..... seriously. But hey, at least it didnt end there, because I got to ask if there was a discount as a season pass holder. But hey, on the brightside.... she never did reduce the bill the 10% she promised and since I didn't want to get into a confrontation to ask for it we got to leave.
Hey RCR #epicfail. 1/10. And... happy to privd3 further and comments to management if someone reaches out. This, as one of the oldest home owners in the RCR on hill community, is a...

It’s pretty clear the staff can’t handle a busy day, and not only that, the sense of entitlement and rudeness is astonishing. We were a group of four who ordered one drink and one meal each. Drinks came out as expected, but the food didn’t. One meal came out relatively promptly. After 15 minutes of waiting for the rest we had to chase, only for two of the remaining meals to come out. More than 5 minutes later, after yet more chasing, the final meal came out.
Having complained about the quality of the service, the manager behind the bar (a blonde woman in her 50s), then attempted to gaslight me by stating that “food takes different times to make” and that the amount of time we had waited for food was less than the actual time. She claimed that she had been watching the clock and was timing it. I know this not to be true because I had been watching her behind the bar, and she was oblivious to the situation. If she did have time to watch the clock, maybe she could have been more useful in the kitchen.
We had hoped for some money taken off the bill which is a pretty customary thing to happen when service is poor. If she had done that we would have left much happier and without leaving a review. After much wrangling and further gaslighting in front of other customers, she only took one plate off.
Like I said, don’t bother with the place. You can do much better for your money elsewhere...
