This is the first negative review I’ve written my entire life. I’ve worked in hospitality my entire career. I was a General Manager of one of Canadas largest national brands for 6 years. It takes a lot for me to even consider writing a review. We waited 50+ minutes for our daughters chicken strips. We asked at 20 minutes after all salads and appetizers had arrived and were rudely told “they take time to cook” - yet we had salads, dry ribs and fried pickles all on our table for at least 10 minutes. I heard that server ask our server if he’d ordered them first and he said yes. We then asked him 15 minutes later and he said, “oh, they still haven’t come yet?” Our daughter is hungry and upset of course. Our mains arrive and our daughters chicken strips have not. They do arrive at the 55 minute mark and that’s when we get our first apology from our server and told they would comp the item. Although I would not be coming back, at this point I would not have written a review at this point. What happened next shocked our family. A man that sat down 10 minutes after we’d ordered was able to finish two courses and get up and pay. He then came to our table and told us he worked there and proceeded to shame us. Made more excuses for the poor service and told us how much his team has to do. Keep in mind we were the first in the restaurant. There were no guests in the dining room when we arrived and everyone that was currently sat on the patio (maybe 2 other tables) had already finished their meals. I tried to reason with this man and tell him we just wanted food for our daughter and he rolled his eyes told me he has 3 kids and walked away. He also told us his team apologized multiple times which they didn’t. We got one apology when the food arrived. Overall awful experience, but no review worthy until this man who told us he worked there came over to shame us.
If you have kids, avoid this place. They don’t recover well and they shame you if you inquire more than once about your kids food. That is my first negative review ever.
If anyone from this establishment chooses to contact me, it must be the man who shamed us at our table. Anyone else employed there, don’t bother...
Read moreI wish I could say that your response shocks me Jeff, but it is par for the course for how we were treated at Legends Bistro.
I’m not going to call you Jeff, because it is clear you’ve already made up your mind as you had when you approached our table that day and didn’t introduce yourself or entertain a conversation. You spoke at us!
For our choice of words, that is really interesting. Yes our frustration grew as we received zero explanation or apology until our server dropped off the food at almost the hour mark. However no foul language was used as I was sitting with my wife, children and elderly parents. If a manager came to our table, they did not introduce themselves as such or give us a name. We were certain we hadn’t spoken to a manager until you came in hot.
And if you genuinely want to improve, then I highly recommend checking your cameras before writing a long reply that is very loosely based on fact. We were not allowed to enjoy your so called beautiful atmosphere and walk around as when I asked, your staff told me it was golfers only. So if you do do your due diligence and check your cameras, you will see me take my daughter to the washroom, ask if we could go outside, and told no. Facts matter Jeff. And also, thank you for educating me on how a restaurant works and how it employs young people. I would never have clued into that without your assistance.
There’s so much more I could touch on, but it’s clear you choose hubris over hospitality Jeff.
If you want a recommendation, read Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara.
The saddest part is is that I’ve always trained my managers that a negative guest experience is an opportunity to create a regular for life if handled well. You’ve done the opposite and chosen to gaslight us with untruths. Please review your camera footage.
If you have a superior Jeff that you report to, I would like their contact information. If you are the top of the totem pole, this ends here as I am shocked by your hubris.
I stand by my first review. This place is not child friendly or big on...
Read moreHusband and I weren’t sure of where to have and we got this place. Went to this place with zero expectations and it turned out to be super good!
We went around 4:45 pm and there was a happy hour from 2-5 pm. The space gives kind of a rustic vibes with lighting and it sets the mood for a good hangout and dining spot!
We ordered coffee - medium roast one , good aroma and worth the price, coffee price is less than other restaurants. wings with hot and Thai sauce and these are finger licking good!
California chicken - I would say it is okay, Cnut what I would like to say is I think everything here is house made sauces and the chicken patty is also not frozen it’s kind of juicy and fresh!
Fries - A fresh cut and fully cooked fries!! I’m satisfied coz wherever I order fries it’s undercooked or soggy!
We tried Apple fritter as a dessert as suggested by the person who was helping us with the order. So it was freshly made with vanilla ice cream scoops and chocolate sauce, totally worth it .
I wanna take a moment to specially talk about the ambience. What could you ask more than a blue skies, green grass and the lake view by the side, a rustic style with lights decorated! I loved it :)
We visited for the second time and we had truffle fries - 5/5 , Mexican taco bowl -2.5/5, wings -5/5, apple crumble - 4/5, mai tai , Long Island Iced Tea, cauliflower bytes - 3/5, coconut crispy prawns -4/5 , chocolate...
