RIPPED OFF FOR MONTHS! We have been regulars at Frank's Organic Garden Marketplace since it opened. We generally buy 4 butcher boxes of steaks, 5 packs of bacon and sausages per visit. Average bill is around $500. They never give you a bill, just ask if you want one. We generally don't bother taking one, as our hands are full of big boxes of meat. Today I went in and bought two butcher boxes of lean ground beef, as well as sausages and bacon. They did not have the butcher boxes available, so the butcher just grabbed 10 lbs of meat and put them in a box. I paid for all the above, but only got one box of lean ground meat. The cashier said she would go back and get me one, but I needed to pay for the second box, as she only charged me for one. I paid for the second box and took the first box and other items out to the car. I brought the bill back in for the second box to show I had paid and noticed I had been charged tax. I went and got the first bill, and was also charged full tax on all the grocery items. None of these items were taxable. They were all food. I told the cashier, who had no idea of what was taxable or not. The second box of beef was not prepared, so I asked for a refund and a clarification on why all the food was taxed. The manager was called and said those items were not taxable. I asked for a refund on the second box that I hadn't received and told her to refund all the items on the first bill, and charge me again properly without tax. Apparently she could not do this. All the food items rung through the cash get taxed. This means I have probably paid at least $200 in tax that I shouldn't have. This wasn't the cashier's error, the system charges tax on everything. The manager had to put my items in, then as a manager, refund the tax. I am beyond shocked at this. There was no apology or explanation. I and many other customers, are out a pile of money. We will never be back. If you plan on going, you better get that bill and check it very carefully.
I have just read your response, Crystal. You have seen my husband and I in the store buying butcher boxes many times. The tall butcher can confirm that, not the one I dealt with yesterday. I mentioned about the hundreds of dollars we had spent on butcher boxes and taxes we shouldn't have paid, and you offered no response. Your apology was only for the time it was taking to process the refund, not for the egregious and extremely expensive error that has been happening for months. As I said in my earlier review, we have spent at least $2000 in butcher box meat. Filet's and New York steaks. Ask the butcher, he will remember. You made no offer to rectify that huge error or even acknowledge it. Being a former business owner I do not post negative reviews lightly, and only do so under circumstances where an attempt to resolve a serious situation has...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is going to be a lengthy (10 star!) review so I will start off by saying the food was absolutely delicious for those who don't want to read the whole thing!
I am a vegetarian and my husband is lactose intolerant and sometimes it is difficult to find food for both. We were so excited when we saw Frank's Organic Garden becauae we figured there would be delicious vegetarian and vegan (lactose free) options...and there are!
I had the Florida Margherita Pizza and my husband had the vegan pizza and they were both delicious...the crust was incredible!
But Pizza is not all we were able to try and this is where the review gets lengthy! I ordered the 2 pizzas on Friday night from Skip The Dishes. I noticed that Frank's had accepted the order but after quite a while there was still no courier on it's way. I then received a call from Jeremy who I learned is the GM...he was concerned there was no one on the way as well. While we were chatting Skip The Dishes called and Jeremy spoke with them. When he called me back he let me know that the pizzas were actually ordered for Saturday night. I have a newborn and I told him it was very likely my fault, I was super tired, I felt terrible!
Not only did Jeremy not make me feel bad about the 2 pizzas they had made and the fact that it was my fault, he had an offer for me. He said he really wanted us to enjoy fresh delicious pizza and was wondering if someone could stop by on Saturday evening with dinner for us! I couldn't believe it, it was such a caring thing to do.
The next evening Crystal, the Assistant GM showed up at our door with the two pizzas we had ordered, the MOST delicious plum cake, some fresh, organic juice (apple, cranberry, cinnamon...so amazing!), annnnd some macaroons. I honestly wanted to cry, it was so above and beyond and made such a huge impact on our tired little family.
Jeremy and Crystal, thank you for being special people and thank you for introducing us to Frank's. We absolutely CANNOT WAIT to come see the place in person and will absolutely be enjoying the food as much...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAnother truly amazing and unforgettable gastronomic experience! I've been to Frankās Organic Garden previously on few occasions in the past, since their opening and they never fail. Consistently delivering exquisite, meticulously crafted, delicious meals, served to your liking with poise and courtesy by a very well trained, very attentive, professional staff. Organic food does taste different! It brings back those good memories from my childhood when visiting grandparents I would enjoy fruits and vegetables from their garden in the backyard. Their soups, kale salad, beets juice, chicken or beef, goulash, I enjoyed the most. It makes you really feel good about the fact that all those food ingredients on your plate are, in fact, organic, chemicals free, delivered from properly tested and trusted farms, producers, always fresh. Somebody took the time and effort at the highest professional level to think about developing healthy, clean nutrition for people living their busy lives in the city, for families with children, trying to introduce and maintain a healthy lifestyle, give their children only the best nutrition there is. It is a "good for you food" for seniors and many other people who want to make a big difference in their overall wellbeing and eating habits. This is also a great place to go and have your weekly food supplies, so that you could simply warm up pre-cooked meals at home or at work. The colorful interior, positive, welcoming atmosphere, overall good energy of this establishment make you to go there again and again, bringing along your friends and family to share a tasty, healthy meal and share that "feeling good" together. I think it makes your dining experience even more special when you see a legendary Magna Man, Frank Stronach himself, having his lunch or dinner right at the same restaurant, enjoying food coming from the same kitchen, served by the same Chef who just cooked organic meal for you. Thank you All for doing an amazing job and, please, keep up a good work. It is much appreciated by your loyal...
