Al Dente Inc — Restaurant in Baie-Saint-Paul

A hidden gem in Bain Saint Paul!! We were searching for vegan options and by chance found this place on Google maps. On calling we spoke to Sophie and she immediately gave us vegan options and was so helpful and accommodating. Al Dente sells fresh home made pasta and it’s accompaniments. Ranging from house made sauces to salads, soups, condiments pies, desserts and a whole lot of delicious goodies. Sophie was so knowledgeable and attentive. They have vegan ravioli which in some of the best Italian restaurants we don’t get. Amazing taste and absolutely fresh. Loved the herbed olive oil and the red veggies sauce. The vegan meatballs were made with tofu and squash and utterly delicious, unlike the beyond meat types we get in the market. Would love if they opened a branch in Toronto or stores would sell in Toronto. Best pasta I’ve eaten after a very long time. Great place to buy freshly made pastas. Amazing and attentive service. Sans gout et mauvaise représentation.

Lors de ma dernière visite a Baie-St-Paul, plusieurs gens de la région m’ont recommandé une visite au Al Dente, un incontournable pour une bonne bouffe italienne. A mon arrivée j’ai eu droit à un accueil sympathique, je fais le tour des congélateurs, car oui appart les pâtes et les salades le reste c’est du surgelé, choisi quelques items et rentre à la maison. Rendu au souper, je suis les indications inscrites sur les boites, il manquait légèrement de cuisson, après la moitié plus du temps indiquer, nous finissons par commencer à manger. Premièrement, les arancinis au fromage Hercule n’avaient aucun gout, que du riz dans une panure, personne autour de la table n’a trouvé le fromage. Deuxièmes, les croquettes de crabes étaient remplies de goberge, elles étaient bonnes, mais on m’a vendu du crabe pas du goberge. Finalement, les champignons farcis étaient très ordinaires, la farce goutait la soupe en canne Campbell. Ça ne vaut vraiment pas le détour, une déception...
