Nice little place for lunch or dinner, patio seating, and great location. We went for lunch, had made reservations but may not have been necessary mid-week and off peak time. Was overall not quite as fancy / high end as I got the impression of from their website and menu, but that was more an issue of my expectations.
We had the salmon tartar which was excellent, and the "menu complet" meaning table d'hôte; I chose the veg soup that came with small fresh crusty bun, a panini style bun with shrimp salad and kettle chips, and a half order chocolate tart with coffee. All were very good, mid level prices.
Overall no complaints at all, enjoyed the food...
Read moreOne of the more expensive French style restaurants in the area which offers some original dishes. There is a variety of seafood dishes, we had a salmon dish and a shrimp cannelloni dish. The salmon was very good and the shrimp cannelloni was quite original, but not the best mix of flavors. We took the table d'hôte and the entry salads and desserts were excellent. The kids menu was a steak frites plate which was more or less enjoyed (our child generally loves steak). Read moreGood service and hit or miss with the food. Ordered the set menu, which included the grilled mushroom plate, foie gras for starters and the wild boar and tartare for the mains. The different components were will cooked, but the combination of flavours within several plates lacked cohesiveness. The plates tended to have too strong of the acid elements. Some rebalancing of the salt, and fat flavours likely needed to improve the overall plates. Despite this, I still had a pleasant enough overall experience, albeit it would not be my first choice amongst the restaurants...
