Was craving for fried chicken and I found out about this store in Google. Ordered the half soy chicken and crispy fried chicken. I've been to The Fry before and I must say CCOKIO tastes better! Owners are friendly and pretty young too. Newly opened family business in Barrie. They opened mid-August 2022. Our family's favorite is the soy chicken coz the sweetness was very flavourful. We will definitely recommend this to anyone! Note: "korean" fried chicken has a lighter batter than other chicken food stores. It is definitely not bland! It's just how Koreans like their chicken. Price $$

So nice to have another real independently owned Restaurant option in Barrie. The lunch specials are great value I had the spicy chicken with fries and a pop which came to $13. You definitely get hooked up with portions and the sauce was spot on it wasn't too spicy but perfectly balanced. When you order your food don't expect it in 2 minutes which is a positive thing and after the first bite you know why it takes 10-15 minutes because it's cooked to order. It would be amazing to have the signature chicken as a poutine with maybe some kimchi? Highly recommend

Don’t expect to get a smile or good customer service, cause it’s clearly just about the chicken here. Nothing else. It’s a one-man shop. I missed the lunch special by a few minutes. Too bad, cause I would have tried all 3 flavours, but only went with the original crispy chicken. It was my first time trying Korean fried chicken and decided to give this place a try since this is what they specialize in. Chicken was fried fresh. Served nice and hot. It was good, but nothing to go screaming over the mountain tops about or make me wanna come back over.

Nice family owned restaurant in Barrie. There was a woman with a baby at the front counter and a man at the back frying the food.

Fries are almost exactly like McDonald fries. I would rate it 9/10.

The chicken pieces are a bit too small. They are all boneless and while some people would prefer that personally I like my fries chicken in big pieces with bones in. Eating the bite sized chicken kind of feels like eating sesame chicken instead of fried chicken. The larger surface area also means it gets more sauce, and I had to drink a lot of water during the meal. Maybe this is what I get for ordering the lunch special instead of the normal menu stuff.

However it is still a very solid meal for a really cheap price. Overall 8/10 and I would definitely recommend it to people who haven't tried Korean fried...

2022 August: 4/5 at best...

-new place that replaced Nicki's...food was good, not great, but was good...

-crispy chicken: 4/5 - the chicken is perfectly crispy but a bit bland, wish I had tried the Szechuan instead in hindsight as I like flavour...a good cook to it mind you as chicken was cooked perfectly so if you like crispy bland chicken then this place will probably be a 5/5 for you... -fries with their butter sauce: 4/5 - the flavour is a 5/5 just the fries were limp and not crispy unfortunately...taste wise was great just for shoestring fries needs a bit of crispy texture to them... -customer service: 5/5 - guy said 10 minutes and he was 10 minutes, place was clean and nice looking...

-price: 4/5 their lunch time special is $10 +$2 for flavour for the fries, so pretty...

Absolutely Incredible! I’ve tried a lot of fried chicken in my life, but this Korean fried chicken is on a whole other level. The skin is perfectly crispy and light, with that satisfying crunch that you just can’t beat. What really sets it apart, though, is the sauce. The sweet and spicy glaze is the perfect balance of heat and flavor—just the right amount of kick to keep you coming back for more, without overpowering the chicken itself. The meat is tender and juicy, and you can tell it’s been marinated and prepared with care. The portion sizes are generous, and you can really tell that everything is made fresh to order. If you’re a fan of fried chicken, you have to try this. It’s the best...
