Osmow's Shawarma — Restaurant in Barrie

Honestly such a fall from grace at this location, I've been a weekly regular at this location for YEARS and after multiple terrible experiences from the food quality going down and the customer service being absolutely terrible and I'm done giving them my money after my experience last evening 03/30/2025 @ 9PM. Show up, wait a few minutes just to be acknowledged when standing at the register to place my order. Guy walks over, no greeting and as I start placing my order, COUGHS IN MY FACE, without trying to cover it, no apology, and does it right in the vicinity of the dessert container and an OPEN stainless steel container of chicken shawarma! Nice! After I paid, the guy walks away, no offer for a receipt (which I would've liked for my tax records). I made the request for a Large Beef Shawarma with a scoop of Chicken to be added also and specified for it to be on top. I've ordered this many times WITH NO ISSUES. 5 minutes later they call me for my order and I notice they are putting an extra container in with the bag, I asked what it was and they said it was the scoop of chicken shawarma, I asked nicely if they could just add it to the top of the other container and give it a bit of garlic sauce and hot sauce and no problem. The original coughing guy who took my order pipes up and starts barking at me "that's not how you told me you wanted it, and I said it would be 15 minutes!" Kind of caught off guard because I've never had somebody with such terrible customer service, I politely said "that is how I said I wanted it and you never told me it would be 15 minutes" and he doubles down aggressively and says "yes I did, don't lie!" while staring me down like some confrontational clown. Calling a paying customer a liar. Fire this guy or you'll lose even more customers. I'm NOT the type to believe the customer is always right but this guy shouldn't be the face of anybodys business. Your people aren't following health and safety code, 2 guys behind the counter didn't even have uniforms on, just dirty street clothes. Not a single person washed their hands from going to the register back to touching FOOD and obviously nobody was wearing gloves either. I could go on but I think I've made my point. Really disappointed, this location used to be my favorite in barrie to get shawarma, and I given them multiple chances with the food and service still coming out...

I placed an order through Uber Eats and immediately entered the store after the order was confirmed. I let the staff know that I was there to pick up an online order and wanted to make a change (add turnip) before the order was made for me. The staff member barely acknowledged me and continued to finish up the order he was packing for another customer. A few minutes later the same employee asked for my name and when I provided it, he let me know that my food was already made and there are no changes. I asked for the turnip to be placed in a cup to go instead and he continued to tell me that I cannot make changes when an online order is placed. I explained that was why I placed the order in the parking lot and immediately came in to let them know that I wanted to add the turnip to my wrap and if the employee took 10 seconds to listen to what I was asking, then it wouldn't be a problem. He told me next time to call them, even though I was inside the restaurant fasted than the phone would have been answered. He just stood there and shook his head at me. Thankfully the girl who was making my food was nice enough to provide me with turnip in a cup, which was all I asked for in the first place, so I thanked her and I took my food and left the store. As I was outside getting into my car, that was facing the restaurant, I could see the employees looking, talking and laughing at me. This is very unprofessional of the staff and I would expect more from Osmows. I frequent this location quite often and this was not a good experience for me. Unfortunately One star is the least I could go with while reviewing! Would have gone with 0 star if I had that chance! Got Shawarma plate from 494 Big Bay Point Rd, Barrie, ON L4N 3Z5 location. Found a piece of “metal steel scrubber” in the food while in the middle of having it. Went to the store again driving way back to complain about the issue and the owner insisted the employee at the shop to not provide any refund or food even though something big like this happened, instead I was asked to bring back the food which I purchased that had steel scrubber in it to get refund or only to get 50% on the next purchase. The store owner Hady Dief was so rude and unprofessional, refused to even provide refund and had no idea on how to treat customers. He didn’t feel sorry nor did he even apologize for what happened instead was telling me to go get food from my house driving way back to get refund!! He was talking in a way as if nothing even happened and all this was normal for him and was making me understand that this is how his business/store runs and I understood that customers are not his priority and even if we find terrible things in food we need to live with that!
