Ordered dinner last night from SkiptheDishes, I ordered an order of spring rolls and their pad see ew. The spring rolls were okay, nothing to rave about. However, I noticed the second I opened the container, that I was sent the wrong noodle dish. They gave me pad thai instead of pad see ew. I called them 5 mins after I received the order, contemplating calling them or Skip. It was 20 mins before they close. I spoke to a man on the phone who gave me his number so I could send him a picture of the dish. Once he received the photo, he kept trying to claim that the dish I ordered was pad sew ew. He even told me check the menu as I was claiming the type of noodle they used was even wrong. I'd like to say that pad see ew is my all time favourite Thai dish and I'm literally half Thai. On their menu, their pad thai comes with REGULAR rice noodles, egg, tofu, bean sprouts, onions, stir fried in a tamarind sauce- every single one of those ingredients was in the dish I received. Whereas their pad see ew comes with FLAT rice noodles, egg, broccoli, stir fried in dark soya sauce. The dish I got did not have any broccoli OR flat rice noodles. I offered to come to the store to just exchange the dish but he was so insistent on the fact that I have the correct dish. I would've just eaten it but I'm not a fan of peanuts as a garnish. I understand people make mistakes, but to flat out lie because you don't want to remake the dish? This place is a joke. Save your money and time and just eat somewhere else. I've added a photo of the dish I received (pad thai) vs what I was supposed to receive (pad see ew) Edit: their response still doesn’t explain why they’re still trying to tell me the dish I received was “pad see ew” when their menu states their “paid Thai” has peanuts, eggs, bean sprouts and tofu which is exactly what I received in my “pad see ew”. Own up to your mistake.

I am more than unimpressed. If I could give this zero stars, I would. I ordered the salmon bento box , and when I opened it I found a DEAD BUG in my order. I phoned the restaurant, and they didn’t once apologize for this. Instead they told me they would make me another order. After I told him I do not want to eat from them after just finding a dead bug in my food, he went on to tell me “it’ll be fun the sauce and food are two different things”. Then kept pushing to make me more food. It’s a shame because the food is very good, but I will absolutely not be ordering anything from this place again. If there’s a dead bug in one item, clearly their kitchen is not clean and who knows what else it in their food that’s been deep fried. **The fact they are now blaming it on the uber eats driver instead of taking accountability shows what type of business this is. The food was completely sealed during delivery, and there was zero possible chance of this happening during delivery. This happened at your restaurant, in your kitchen. Take accountability for YOUR incredibly gross mess up instead of blaming it on a poor delivery driver*

Updating my review as despite my first positive experience a few months ago my subsequent experience was disapointing. I ordered Orange Cashew Nut Chicken. I have had this here in past and enjoyed it, but this time it looked very different. I believe I either got the wrong dish or it was made incorrectly. It had no cashews in it, and also did not seem to have the normal sauce. I called the company to discuss my concern and got busy signal and then emailed, that was two weeks ago and never got response..

Basil House has quickly become one of our favorite spots. After three visits in just a month, we can confidently say that this place knows how to keep diners coming back. The moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by a cozy and inviting ambiance, setting the perfect tone for an enjoyable meal.

The menu is well-curated, featuring a variety of dishes that are flavorful and beautifully presented. Each time we’ve visited, we’ve been impressed by both the quality and consistency. The food bursts with authentic flavors, with fresh ingredients that shine in every bite. The Pad Thai is a must-try—perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of sweetness and tang.

Service is another highlight at Basil House. The staff is attentive and genuinely friendly, always ready to recommend dishes or customize an order to suit your preferences.

Whether you’re in the mood for a casual dinner or a special evening out, Basil House delivers on all fronts. It’s no surprise we’ve returned so frequently—it’s simply that good! If you’re looking for a place that combines great food, warm service, and a welcoming atmosphere, look no further than...
