It was too hot to cook at home tonight so I thought we would go out and try something different. We decided to give Let's Ko a try.
Quite honestly I am very torn on how to rate my experience there. If I could I would rate it as a 3.5/5 based on our experience but I will give the benefit of the doubt and round up to 4 stars.
The restaurant was clean, and the people were very friendly. The menu looked good and had reasonable prices as well. This was our first time there so we were trying to figure out what we wanted to try. Our waitress was friendly but seemed quite impatient to take our order so it felt like we were being rushed.
We ordered pan fried dumplings for an appetizer. I ordered a sushi platter and my wife ordered bibimbap. My daughter ordered the BBQ eel and Alaska roll combo. My dinner was served with Mizo soup, and a side salad which was fresh and had a mild flavour. Regarding the salad I received, it was almost like the sauce was out in the bowl first then the greens added on top. The dressing was really delicious but I could barely taste it until I got to the bottom of the salad. The Mizo soup was very tasty but there was very little tofu in it. What tofu was in it was very small pieces and not many of them or at least I didn't get many.
I am not sure if it's the normal thing they do in this restaurant or not but we did not receive plates for the appetizer. We just picked straight off the platter and ate which I thought was quite interesting.
The egg on my wife's bibimbap had small purpleish dots on the bottom of it when she flipped it over, and was well done which is normally served with a soft yolk. When she asked what the purple dots were, she was she was told it was colour from the food which was odd so she asked if she could have another egg over easy. The waitress returned with a sunny side up egg that was slightly undercooked (i.e. the egg white was still a little gel like). The waitress advised us to let them know the next time, how she wanted her egg when she ordered. My wife orders bibimbap a lot and it's always been the same. Just a recommendation to the waitress, when you take an order and it has an egg on top, you might want to consider asking the customer how they want their egg on top cooked. The customer does not know how you cook it especially when it is their first time there.
I will say the waitress was very attentive, and very pleasant. The restaurant was cozy and had a nice decor/atmosphere. Honestly, I think this restaurant has a lot of potential and we did feel welcomed there which was nice. I do have to admit that based on the reviews I read I was a little disappointed overall but I would still recommend giving this place a try as our experience could have been a one off.
All of these factors considered I really struggled with this rating as I was very torn.

Read moreWe have been choosing let’s Ko for the last few years for amazing noodle dishes. Until quite recently all of my orders had been the same thing. N3 (black bean noodles) with extra daikons, and always to go (lunch time)
My best friend asked me to join her for supper one night. I was excited to eat in and experience the atmosphere and sushi. Since then I’ve only been choosing to eat in!
😍😍😍
The atmosphere is so pleasant, staff are always so kind and attentive! The seating is very comfortable and the restaurant is always very clean.
Now for the food!!
The sushi is amazing! Their rice is perfect every single time! I have been to other sushi restaurants and sometimes the rice is good and other times not so much. I haven’t yet to have this experience at let’s ko!
The nori is excellent! I haven’t asked them what type, but it has a different flavour profile than my other go to sushi restaurant.
The fish is amazing! They don’t skimp on their fish selection. The salmon is always beautifully cut and the perfect ratio to meat and fat marbling. The tuna is flavourful and tender, it’s truly a delight!
My go to order is the house maki combo, I can’t get enough of that home made salad dressing 🥰 the miso soup is delicious, not overly salty and the perfect complement to an amazing meal. The sushi is a salmon maki and a tuna maki. I add an Alaska roll (can you really beat salmon, avocado and cucumber??)
For the table we usually order a veggie tempura and spring rolls. We decided tonight to share a KoKo chicken dish and it was amazing as well!!
The tempura isn’t greasy, it’s beautiful and light! The veggie tempura usually comes with sweet potato, pepper, asparagus and zucchini (I do not know if this is standard and year round it’s just been my experience) the spring rolls are so good as well.
The KoKo chicken is tender pieces of dark meat, in a slightly spicy but so flavourful sauce! I could pair that with a side of rice and enjoy that as a meal (may do that if we have another to go lunch order)
10/10 recommend eating in for the sushi. It melts in your mouth and is the perfect balance of flavours and textures!
Thanks Let’s Ko staff for always being so amazing and for serving such wonderful meals! It’s always a pleasure for us to get together, unwind after work and enjoy a meal. You have always served us more than just a meal, you’ve served us beautiful memories and fantastic experiences with the people we love most, and I...
Read moreThis place is a favourite for a few of our friends, so we were excited to try it. It's easy to see why they love it so much! From the moment you walk in, staff are so friendly and welcoming - they greet you right away and make sure you have everything you need. Restaurant is clean and tidy, and COVID measures are very clearly marked. We were so impressed with the service! They have a big enough menu that there are lots of choices, but not so many it's hard to choose (although, it was still hard to choose!). I wanted a light lunch so got a sweet potato tempura roll and an order of the pork gyozas. Service was quick and both items were delicious! I appreciate how tight they roll their sushi. It was easy and enjoyable to eat and was super fresh! I'm a bit of an odd duck - I prefer tempura sauce with my sushi rather than soy sauce and our server was very accommodating! My friend got one of their lunch plates and I will definitely be trying one of those next time. The value was amazing! I love that they provide chilled glasses for their beverages and bring you a straw without asking. So many little details thought of here to make your experience great. We did have my niece with us and she got a bit messy but the server didn't bat an eye interacting with her and making us feel completely comfortable letting her eat without a worry. I will be back, and 100% recommend. Prices are unbelievable for quality of food and...
