We had a disappointing experience with our waiter during our visit. He seemed very stressed and overwhelmed, which made it hard to get proper service. When we asked questions about the menu, he either didn’t answer clearly or didn’t answer at all. It felt like we were being rushed and ignored. While we understand that working in a busy restaurant can be stressful, better communication and attentiveness would have made our dining experience much more pleasant.
The waiter took it upon himself to include a tip in the bill without informing us, leaving us no choice in the matter. Tipping is supposed to be discretionary, based on the quality of service, but we were not given the option to decide how much to leave. To make matters worse, the service was far from deserving of an automatic tip — the waiter was inattentive and unhelpful throughout our meal. This kind of practice feels dishonest and left a bad impression. We won't be returning. And I will make sure people that surround me they will know how bad service kimmo restaurant was at...
Read moreThe stove didn’t work properly, it wouldn’t heat up. We asked the waiter for a table change, she took around 20 min to come back just to say there were no tables available (there was a table right in front of us during the entirety of our stay). And that’s not it, we figure we would order things we didn’t have to cook (yeah, we had to sacrifice the sole reason we were there) but the phone wouldn’t work, we did what we were told, only order on one phone and don’t close the browser, we still had to have the paper printed 3 times. Ridiculous.
This would be ok in a regular sit down restaurant, but we paid 150$ for a very mid experience, not really the way I remember Kimpo (maybe the ones in brossard and st hubert are just better run)
Paying the mandatory 15% service feels like a rip off after the fact. Come on guys, just pay your workers a wage they can live on. I find it mind blowing to charge 15% service after charging 54$ per person
I was a big fan of the restaurant but now I’ll reconsider my options....
Read moreWe asked management if they’d consider charging an adult with a feeding tube half price. The manager said we should have said so when we arrived. It was quite clear by what we ordered that there was no way 2 adults were eating. He offered 10% off our bill, which we do appreciate, however, being accessible to those with different feeding needs is also part of customer service.
We also tried to get a hold of waiter to mention our children’s ages were wrong. We were told the ages written down is what was said at the beginning. I reiterated there was a mistake.
Long story short. Their food is great but their handle of the English / French language left a lot to be desired. We were not able to communicate our needs well and ended up paying more for our children than should have been. As well as paying for 2 adults full price when only 1 was able to eat. C’est la vie - you live...
