Well…. Before i say anything let me start by saying that we attended the New Year celebration diner. It was our first time there. We had no expectations and we had a lovely evening and food and service were very good. All 4 of us decided it was one of our new favorite places to go eat. So when I asked my mom, who was turning 84 , where she would like to Go for her Bday she right away said let’s go to the Shack. I have worked in restaurants and am still in the service industry. My husband has been working in restaurant kitchens for the last 25 years. My mom’s friend ,that was with us ,eats out 4-5 times a week….all of us have never experienced this level of condescending service EVER . First with the coats that our 2 elders had decided to put on the seats beside us … not the best move , which i mentioned to them. When i mentioned to the waiter/ manager? That this was probably not the best place for the coats….He said condescendingly well you just had to put them in the coat closet that’s what it’s there for…Well in the winter it’s kinda of his job to offer and tell us were the coat closet is…. Then yes a little bit of confusion when discussing the menu as mom And friend can get confused. Still very condescending. Then we ordered 3 appetizers and got 2 x 12 oysters for the ladies as it was ladies night . We got a stern warning that we were not allowed to share with the men , when he heard me say to my partner that i wanted to try the clam chowder and maybe we could share. I totally understand why he would say that but read the room …. We all had paying appetizers plus mom ordered an extra 6 oysters and i ordered the large chowder. We weren't there trying to split 2 free orders of oysters and 2 main dishes between 4 people. Anyway, we get our appetizers and a bottle of white wine. My partner went in for a sip of wine and noticed a small fly floating in his glass. We have absolutely no clue where this fly came from. Was it in the glass prior? Was it flying around? Dont know. So we mentioned it to the waiter. I mean first idea that comes to most people’s mind is ewww please throw it out and change my glass. Nope not this gentleman. First comment? Well I can’t do anything for you, i cant change your bottle! I dont control what’s going on in the environment.! All 4 of us were shocked by this idiotic answer as nothing had even been asked. So We asked can you at least give us a new glass? Yes of course…. Comes back with a glass with wine in it… so we asked if he had put some other wine in it ? No i just passed your wine in a sieve to Remove the fly… ?????!!!!!! ben non , please throw the wine out and give us a fresh glass. Hello hygiene and salubrity! Then he adds oh ok we didnt understand each other because i would drink it .. what’s the problem? GASP!! Yeah well We are not in your backyard are we now? Then come the main dishes 3 of them were fish and chips with fries. The fries are dark brown black x3 .Right away, my partner tastes the fries he said they were burnt and bitter. So our friend the waiter condescendingly , again , explains to us how the fries are La Belle Province style. Yeah we understand , but these fries are overcooked and burnt. He keeps insisting that that’s the style like we have never been to La Belle Province in our lives. So I mentioned that my partner is a chef, we kinda know what a burnt fry looks like so he finally offered to get us something else onion rings and sweet potato fries which were fine. I had called earlier to mention it was mom’s bday and if they had anything special they could do like if we order a dessert put a candle on it ? Again , i know it was the same person that answered my call because thinking back he kinda threw at me that it was a churros for Bdays. Again I was not asking to get anything for free. When we got the dessert he didnt even ask if the rest of us wanted dessert! I was extremely disappointed and sad that my mom received this type of service on her special day. Food was not very bad nor good. Worst chowder ever.We Will NEVER go back...

The restaurant has a nice a nice decor. They also have a love patio with lots of space and it can be heated as well. The service is friendly and just at the right speed. The food is good, but nothing out of the ordinary. The cod of the panko fish and chips was a good size and cooked right. However the batter is a little on the thicker side, but makes it very crispy. If that's what you like, then the panko batter is for you. The fried calamari a were crispy. It's a little on the smaller side. The sauces were good. The crab cake burger looked nice. The sauce is very tasty, but the crab cake didn't taste much like crab. Even the texture was very soft with a lot sauce. I wouldn't know it's crab if it didn't say it in the menu. We enjoyed the rice and the fries maybe just a little bit more. The prices are close to being on the pricier side, but it's a nice place to go to enjoy a...

Terrible experience. We got to the resto on time, ordered our meals 30 min later. We got our drinks right away and appetizers a bit more than an hour after order which made that we were already sitting for more than an hour and a half. Our main meals were still not served after having ordered them with the entrees, almost 2 hours waiting for food. We were extremelt fed up, we had a pregnant woman with us as well. We asked for the bill for whatever was served and left, The staff did not care, They had a very rude attitude and did not come to see us at the table ever for an update. They had served everyone else in the resto, prioritizing the terrasse, the resto was completely empty when we got there, meaning whoever got there after was served their meals before we were. It was absolutely ridiculous. We were a group of 12 which I believe is a good chunk of money lost....
