First time visiting in this town of Bouctouche and when it came time to eat both Pat, my lovely wife, and I decided on this place for our seafood selection. We went up to their front display/ordering counter upon entering. I immediately ordered the fish and chips. Pat needed to study their menu boards a bit. We were lucky to have hit this place just before the dinner rush started. Pat decided upon the scallop platter. We topped it off with their diet cola which we split between us. I was thoroughly satisfied with their fresh fish. Pure white, nice and flaky, good crunch on the batter, large portions and very tasty. Fries were also a delight. My only "complaint" was that we received far too many fries between the two of us. Next time we'll only order one set of fries to split between us and save a little money. As it was, Pat decided to take the fries home and heat them up later for a snack. It seemed a lot of people ordered take out. Guessing it may still be a COVID thing but Pat and I enjoyed eating inside. Had it been a bit warmer we'd have been even happier eating on their front deck. A very friendly lady was working on taking orders and handling the till. Another lady, who brought our meal to the table, was also friendly and very outgoing. This place is a great treasure and in a convenient location relative to the neighbouring expressway, for those just traveling through. A major gas station is just across the road. Look forward to returning...
Read moreA Lobster Roll Revelation!
After traveling extensively through Canada—especially the Maritimes—we were excited to dive into the world of lobster rolls. Nova Scotia, with its coastal charm and seafood reputation, seemed like the perfect place to fall in love with them. But after trying roll after roll, we were left disappointed—bland, rubbery, and underwhelming.
Then we found Ponzi’s Restaurant & Fish Market, and everything changed.
From the first bite, we knew this was different. The lobster was tender, succulent, and perfectly seasoned. It tasted fresh off the boat, nestled in a buttery, toasted roll that complemented the seafood without overpowering it. This wasn’t just a meal—it was a redemption arc for lobster rolls. Ponzi’s didn’t just meet our expectations—they redefined them. If you’ve ever doubted the hype around lobster rolls, let Ponzi’s be the place that changes your mind. We’re...
Read moreI love this place. The service is good and the seafood selection is amazing. I really enjoyed my lobster and crab roll dinner for $23.99. It comes with 1 lobster roll, 1 crab roll, fries and coleslaw. For the same price, you can also get 2 lobster rolls or 2 crab rolls. A very good price for a lobster roll. Alone, they are $11.99, so it is worth upgrading to the dinner. I’ve seen some lobster rolls selling for $29 in the Maritimes, and I thought these ones were just as delicious, if not more. The oysters are cheap, at only $1.75 and there is a great seafood freezer selection. There are bags of frozen rock crab. Will be back if in...
