Vong's Restaurant — Restaurant in Bouctouche

First time visiting this restaurant. When we walked in the employees and the woman I believe is the owner looked at us and said nothing. After standing there for a couple of minutes we had to ask if we could place an order to go. This should have been our first hint not to stay. The owner without saying a word waved her arm (looking annoyed) for us to walk around. She then walked into the kitchen still without saying a word. She was in there for several minutes before coming out. When we finally were able to order we verified that we could have it (vegetable chow mien) without onions. She said we could. Something else happened but I will leave it out though it further solidifies their terrible service. No other real option so we hoped it would taste okay. Left and returned to pick up our order. After driving home and opening the food there were no noodles in the dish. Any other time I have had any type of chow mien it had stir fried noodles. I have never had chow mien without noodles. According to the owner, you have to do a 'special order' to receive noodles. I guess this is how it's done in New Brunswick. Us telling her it was our first time and that we weren't from New Brunswick she should have mentioned the difference (saying it doesn't have noodles so order the other dish). Especially if it is only in New Brunswick where it's done this way. This does not encourage visitors to take a seat and bring business. Because of the bad service it is no surprise that she did not do that in the end. Okay, no noodles, but we still got extra soggy vegetables (from their color they look like they were over cooked from frozen) and sprouts. After calling to inquire about it I was told that it has to be a special order to get noodles. It was another example of her not offering good service. She did not offer to work to rectify the situation she was unwilling until I mentioned a bad review. From experience...when you criticize an order you have to be careful. I already have a bad taste in my mouth both literally and figuratively. If you have another option DO NOT eat there. Especially if you are someone who knows what authentic Chinese food should taste like and include. An hour later I still have a bad aftertaste in my mouth. No good...

Our family of 3 visited this establishment today. It was very pricey as one adult and a 6 and 4 year old was 90$. We ordered a combo for 2, substitute chow mein for chicken lo mein, and chow hoy shin. The chicken lo mein was awful, came w cantonese noodles and not lo mein noodles.

I indicated to the waitress right away the mistake she check w management. No resolution offered or anything was given. The chow hoy shin was good, portion is the smallest I ever seen. The kids liked the rice and chicken balls, the egg rolls not so much.

I understand good food can be pricey and I'm willing to pay for it as long as the order is actually what I ordered.

I also don't believe in crying to management to get exchange, a business should be making a effort to make things right....for owners and clients.

The atmosphere : I adored the numerous plants and I was cold while eating. If I would of brought a jacket I would of put it on....also mention this after going to the washroom (that was nice and warm). Waitress told management without response again.

Having worked at a Chinese restaurant for over a decade, this restaurant and "way of doing things" doesn't resignate with my heart. Now living in bouctouche I'll take my family business else...

Restaurant was clean but décor wise super cheap compared to other Chinese restaurants. Horrible service - the hostess wasn't very welcoming Waiting 45 mins for food only to find out it was ready 25 mins ago. They couldn't be bothered to tell me . Ordered chicken fried rice with chicken balls . Worse fried rice I've ever had . Rice was stale and its was basically just soya sauce and rice . The chicken balls tasted like something you'd buy in a store and put in the microwave . This was just pretend Chinese food . Even the buffet was basic fried rice , chicken , fries ,pizza . Not worth ...
