Shortly after, I got a call from the delivery driver letting me know the food would be about 10 minutes late. He also told me he would call again once he dropped it off. That second call never came. A little while later, I noticed that Uber Eats showed the order as “delivered,” even though I hadn’t received anything. No knock, no message, and definitely no food. I called the store, and the woman who answered was extremely dismissive, telling me “he has a lot of deliveries” as if that justifies my missing order. That’s not the customer’s problem. I paid for a meal and expected basic communication and timely service. When I called back again, she claimed the order had been delivered. I checked again still nothing outside. I had already been waiting for nearly two hours, stressed and confused, just trying to figure out where my food was. During that final phone call, I could clearly hear her speaking to the driver in their own language, asking why he hadn’t called. I distinctly heard him say: “The app said leave at the door, so I did.” So despite initially telling me he would call, he chose to ignore that and silently marked the order as delivered. That is incredibly careless and unprofessional. Eventually, the woman offered me a coupon. I declined and requested a refund instead. She said it was processed though after all of this, I’m left hoping I don’t have to follow up again to get my money back. What really concerns me is that after this incident, I checked online reviews and saw multiple customers describing similar issues. Read moreI sorely regret not reading the dozens of negative reviews before ordering. I placed a very simple order online, which the store received at 7:10 PM. The driver, named Jaspal, left the store "with our order" at 7:29. Alright, so we waited. At 8:08, I called Domino's to ask what's up. No answer. I called again, and the staff member who picked up told me they were getting a high volume of orders, and that's why my order must be late. Understandable. But after another unusually long wait, I tried calling to check in again. I called SEVEN TIMES, to no avail. But I'm patient, so the 8th time a staff member picked up, and I let her know that it's been TWO HOURS since I ordered. She said she'd check what's going on with my order, both in-store and with the driver. She told me to hold on, so I did. I waited in silence for a good while, and then she hung up on me. That's when I lost my patience.
I had to call twice, and when she answered I straight up asked her why she hung up. "I was going to call you back." Uhuh. She goes "the driver messed up, he left without your order. It's still in the store." I see. "I'll make your pizzas again, and they'll be delivered to you in one and a half hour." And will I be charged for these pizzas? "No, they will be free." That's nice.
Now, remember how I said my order was received at 7:10 PM? It's now 2 AM. No pizza. I'm never betraying City South again.
Y'all ought to be thankful I didn't give my mom the phone so she could unleash her Karen-esque rage upon you. I work in sales and customer service myself, so I tried to be nice. I also know that it's not possible to mess up this hard by accident.
As for the store owner: why aren't you taking these reviews seriously? You're losing customers permanently. We write these reviews to help you out, because we know you have the potential to do better. If you care about the quality and reputation of your business, you may want to consider replacing some of your staff. They're losing you money and ruining your name....
